Droid or Blackberry? I need a new phone.
As much as I want an iPhone, I can't leave Verizon.
I am sorta kinda in love with the Droid, but am wondering if anyone has gone from a BB *to* a Droid, and whether or not they've been happy with that choice? Also, if you recommend a BB, which one? Verizon is about to owe me a brand new phone under their "lemon law" (so to speak), and I'm considering upgrading this time finally to a PDA. I'm on my third enV Touch, heh. It blooooows. Thanks for the help! :winkwink: Oh, and yes, I've read tons of reviews, but I like getting the opinions of real users. :upsidedow |
I have the BlackBerry Storm, it's awesome
Crap loads of apps, go to crackberry.com Better resolution than Iphone and it's verizon I went to Sand Mountain in Nevada to ride quads and the only phones that work out there are Verizon |
I have a Droid. It's a great phone if you like to surf and play on your phone. If you use a [email protected] pop3 it isn't very good. The push technology isn't there yet.

Blackberry 4 Life!! I had a Curve but now have the Tour 9630. What most people don't know is that every blackberry has it's on pin code. Look in your messenger profile. What you can do is give out your pin code to other blackberry users instead of your phone number. Also, every blackberry user has it's on symbol! If you're in messenger, you can display your symbol. Hold it up to another blackberry user's phone who's in messenger also. The phone will recognize your symbol and add it to the other person's messenger. Hit me up on gmail. ..... dougeetx@@@@@@@@@@@@gmail.com and I'll email you my symbol so you can see what I'm talking about.

Full stop, the only Blackberry to own today is the Bold 9700. Simply awesome. :thumbsup

own bb and droid. different phones. bb is more biz centric with email and apps. droid is more tech savvy and with different features. VZ won't get the iphone for a while so don't wait on that.

I can safely assume that for everyone that has posted that the Blackberry (especially the Storm) is a better phone then the Motorola Droid has not used this phone for more then 2 minutes. I have had the Blackberry Storm , Tour and Pearl and for me they're not even in the same league as the Droid. I also have a iphone as well.
- Blackberry's take 2-5 min to turn on and off and are glitchy/slow - The Browser on a Blackberry is horrible compared to the Droid - The keyboard is better on the Droid - The menus and interface of the Droid is simple and easy to learn , plus all the decent apps you would find and use (that are actually worth using) are now available on the Droid. The Droid is finally doing what Apple figured out about 10 years ago and has made smart phone tasks which would normally be confusing and has simplified them so that the end user can actually do what they want to do. The only thing that I liked about blackberry phones is that they had actual buttons to dial numbers, sometimes when your rushed using a touchscreen is a pain in the ass the iphone is an exception because their dial pad works great for a touch screen. I find now that the only people buying blackberrys are people that have had once since day one, I've jumped ship and there's no way I'd ever go back to a RIM product. |

I just went from a blackberry curve to a droid when the droid first came out. It's a great trade. I loved my bb but I don't miss it. The droid is superior.
|
Thanks for all of the responses! Especially UnUnited, heh. I was hoping someone with actual experience with BB's *and* a Droid would respond.
Thanks again. |

Blackberry is awesome.

Rumor has it that the iphone is going to be available on Verizon at the end of the month. Even so I would recommend a Droid over an iphone. I've had a blackberry, iphone, blackberry again and now a droid and I definitely won't be using a bb or an iphone again.
