Madawg and I Are Arguing About Vegas Comps
Im pretty sure that if you spend enough money at the casino that you will get comps like you wont have to pay for your room, free food all kinds, and other cool shit.
He disagrees with me. Who is right? |
You are correct.
The high rollers are very well taken care of. Spend enough money and you will get a dedicated casino employee that will cater to your every whim. The term 'whale' originated in Vegas. Our whales are affiliates that send a huge amount of joins, their 'whales' are the high rollers. The whales in Vegas also get huge credit lines. |
Actually...
Spending money (gambling losses) will get you some comps. But winning the money gets you bigger comps, and more often. They want you to stay there so they can get their money back out of you. The casino will always win if you stay there long enough. |
Here is one guy currently going through the downside of comps:

player points are based on a formula of different things. A mix between size of bets and time at the table usually add up to player points if you have a player card. That is unless you are bettering 5k+ a hand. Then you will most likely get everyone theres attention.

just tell them you're into porn and tubes and you'll get made comps. lol
|
If its free....it isn't
|
i dont think they will care if im betting 100$ a hand or something...it would have to be big..1k or more i guess to really get some sweet deals

One of the keys to getting "comps" is to become a slot club member, and to turn the card into the dealer when you're playing a table game so that you can become "rated". The rating means how much you bet per hour of play at whatever table game... Of course, this works with the slot machines too, except the computer keeps a very accurate account of your play. Almost all casinos in Las Vegas have a slot club card to do this. Search out the slot club booth in the casino, they will ask you for an ID, and to fill out a card with your name, address, phone and social security number and they issue you a plastic, credit card sized card with an ID number on it. Whenever you sit down at a table game, you should hand your slot card to the dealer, who will get the attention of the pit boss, he/she logs you in and notes your average bet. When you leave, they make a note of that too. Whenever you play at a slot machine be sure to insert your slot club card into the appropriate slot... Most casinos offer cash back or comps based on the denomination you bet and your length of play. You earn "points" based on the number of coins you put into the machine and those points can be redeemed for various comps from t-shirts to free rooms. Also it should be noted that getting a slot card puts you on their mailing list, where you will receive exceptional offers in the mail for free rooms, discounted rooms, and other deals.... |
I took advantage of a total of 18 room comps in Las Vegas in 2009. I also received free show tickets, access to wine tasting events, and other perks.
I rarely play table games, usually slots. I typically play less than $200.00 a day when there and usually end up winning $300 to $700 off the $200 I put in. I don't ASK for comps, they email their offers to me. I also get discounted rates offered from a number of casinos. |
