Please Give Donations to the Victims of Haiti
Text "Yele" to "501501" to donate $5
Please Text "Yele" to "501501" to donate $5 to the victims and families who need your support greatly after the 2010 Earthquake in Haiti. The $5 will be charged to your next cell phone bill. We all spend $5 on crap every day, it's the least we can do for people who REALLY need this money. http://www.yele.org Quote:

If this doesn't look shady I donno what does
|
Maybe you should check out the website and who it's owned by, maybe a little fact checking before making such a dumb comment.
You also might want to turn on the news and have the website and same message pop up in your face on every major news station. Fucking retard. |
If there really IS a place called hell then people who set up fake donation sites will most certainly end up there :2 cents:
|
this isnt fake.. its real.. on cnn, etc..
|
CIVMatt makes a lot of statements that are false.

Don't understand why you people would make stupid comments without checking it out first. |
Turn on the TV to any major news channel, this is Wyclef Jean's charity. Verify it's legitimacy here: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/impact/?hpt=tv ~ it's on the list...
|
I was at the yele website just hours after the earthquake happened and I don't know, cnn says they are legit, but I just can't bring myself to agree. Something just doesn't feel right.
|
Well good then, We were just here listening to the FBI warnings of a bunch of text donation scams going on currently, figured this was one of them, that website doesn't look very honest lol...
Brad penis enlargement devices dont work :) But hey I'm on your side |

I donated to both places. yele is maxed out at $30 per phone number, Clinton's foundation there is no max, but minimum of $25. you don't have to donate to this particular charity, go to the list in my post above provided by CNN and use whichever you feel most comfortable with. All the money is going to same place! |

It states clearly the men gained penis size during this clinical study. You just sound foolish when you say it doesn't work. |
How the fuck do you bring up Penis enlargement in this thread? Seriously?
|
i would give $5 towards overthrowing the govt, but not for this...
1/2 the money that gets donated will never see the people it's intended for.. Haiti is as corrupt as they come... |

You can also text "Haiti" to 90999 to give $10 to the Red Cross.
They say: "100% of the donations will go to support the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. An average of 91 cents of every dollar the American Red Cross spends is invested in humanitarian services and programs." Taken directly from http://www.redcross.org/ |
I'd Give $500 if I knew the $$$ went to help some families in Haitii ... These mother
fucker huge Corps will take every penny and will never reach those poor people. :321GFY |

So if I donate $10, will half go to penis enlargement? I'm confused.
|
Cut me some slack zurc I'm watching a 5 minute news story on tv right now about fake txt donations.... and this is gfy.... 2+2
Btw.. dont ever give any money to the United Way... you'll be lucky if 0.01 of your dollar actually gets to the charity, lot of salaries to pay there. |

Already given to the oxfam appeal over here in the Uk ..bump for a good cause
heres the website for anybody in the UK that would like to donate http://www.oxfam.org.uk/?ito=1482 |
I agree it looks like a free wordpress template, but a little research verifies it all
|
ok, now Yele seems even more scammy, THIS is what Yele.org resembled the night of the earthquake, so 2 days ago(add photos etc as way back machine doesn't archive them) and now they have completely changed their look to look "more" professional. Nope I am not buying it. I say find another charity to give to.
|
* People who want to help those affected by the Haitian earthquake can make a donation to the American Red Cross International Response Fund at Redcross.org or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
* The Red Cross is also receiving money through a third party mobile fundraising effort sponsored by Mobile Accord. Mobile donors can text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a ten dollar donation to the Red Cross. The funds will go to support the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. |

if this isnt the case then wyclef's honesty or wealth has little to do with preventing fraud.. :2 cents: |
Anything you have left over, text it to New Orleans. That is in the United States in case anyone forgot.
|
Guys, donate to who you want, for whatever you want, but I have a feeling everyone in here complaining wouldn't donate in the first place anyways... so yeah...

How much did Haiti donate to Katrina victims? I suggest the US match that.

However, if Haiti was to allow us to install a government of our choice, then I am all for helping them out... Or if Haiti would volunteer say 25,000 of their people to go fight in the middle east, then I am all for helping them out... it reminds me of when the phillipines wanted all US bases off their island and then a volcano hits and they are like "please come help us"... and then had the balls to say we reacted too slowly... |
going to send them 10k on monday
I feel so bad, I know this going to happen to Los Angeles on day |

10k used rubbers? no wait.. you negroes dont use rubbers.. 10k malt liquor bottles? 10k fried chicken bones? 10k watermelon rinds? which is it cause it sure aint 10k dollars... |
A shame...Montreal's become little Haiti. I'd pay to send some back, sign me up.
|
Montreal has become little haiti? Seriously? Come to Florida. I use to work with a lot of Haitians, they were always very nice and were always working, never late late, never absent.
I have a bunch of friends that are freaking out over this situation, they can't get in touch with their mother, brother, sister, etc. They are trying to get out on the earliest flight over there. |

I remember donating money for the Tsunami victims years ago. Then a year later finding out on the news that alot of the money was never used.
I am all for supporting people in crisis and I do so, but would give more if i KNEW for certain that my money was all going to the victims. Media hasn't been very good at following up on that. |

I know it's much easier to be skeptical in a case like this, in fact, most are going to try to benefit their own pockets, but I think he's always been in a class of his own when it comes to his loyalty to his roots. I made my donation to the Canadian RedCross designating the funds to the Haiti Earthquake - here's the link http://www.redcross.ca/article.asp?id=000043&tid=016 |
"Yele"? Wtf?

The people who run charities make money. The IDEA of it may still be solid (87c+ per dollar used directly for the charity and 13c for overhead or whatever) but someone always makes money.
In cases like this, Wyclef is going to come out with a nice chunk of change. |

Also, get a sense of humor. No need to give attitude for a pointless comment I made, boohoo, it was so vulgar I ought to be banned. |
