Best Diners and Dives to eat in Vegas?

I'll be in Vegas next month for a few days and would like to know what your favorite places to eat. I am often very disappointed when I go to a hotel restaurant and pay $40 bucks a head. I can get that same quality of food in Charlotte for $12.

I want the good places that only the locals know about.

i almost always go to this place called ellis island casino, it's a small locals place off the strip on ogden next to motel 8 (kinda near ballys)...the place looks like it hasn't been updated since the 70s and there are always local drunks there so it's pretty funny

the ribs are why i go there, $12 bucks for a full slab with all the "fixins'" or 10 bucks for half a rack and half a chicken....and it's not pre-cooked or anything, they actually have a grill on the patio they grill these ribs on and it's GOOD. they have a microbrewery inside....$1 a for pale ale

there is almost always a line to eat there, so go early. the price is a big attraction but the ribs are the biggest reason people wait 1hr+ to eat there... slide off the bone ribs

:thumbsup

Ask dealers at craps tables... The older the better.

hash house a go-go is great for breakfast
capriottis has good sandwiches
pepe's tacos for a good steak burrito
grimaldi's has good pizza
sen of japan for great sushi and a nice quiet atmosphere
pop's for greasy cheese steaks
yassou greek grill for an excellent 'big fat' gyro (get the greek fries as well)
kilroys for quite possibly the best burgers in vegas
rosemary's restaraunt on sahara for a great dinner (tons of excellent reviews)

hope that helps :)

Yep.

$6.99 = Soup/salad, sirloin steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a micro brew beer or rootbeer.

All made from scratch and excellent.

Never had any sort of wait there though.

The Four Kegs, overrated by Guy Fieri, the stromboli's are nothing like good Eastern USA strombolis.
