why do you ask?

corvette 01-23-2010 10:31 PM

i know that area, some apartments around the corner of cactus and tatum, outlet mall, with paradise valley mall area just a bit south...

Deej 01-23-2010 10:34 PM

Yea i mean if you wanna know how cool the area is, I like it. Lots of small and bigger stores like 5-6 blocks away

Never hit the course but I want to every time Im there.

Mutt 01-23-2010 10:42 PM

there's a beautiful house in that neighborhood - looking at it as a possible shooting house - it's dropped a ridiculous amount of value in a few years. so wondering if the neighborhood is a bit ghetto and that's contributing to the drop in price.

heymatty 01-23-2010 10:47 PM

That location is right next to Paradise Valley. Which means non ghetto.

It's right next to a big mall for clothes, a Target for props etc.

Well the place I am familiar with is definitely not ghetto. It's not gated but its got 24 hour security and such. I guess a few blocks away I seen lower quality houses n what not, but I wouldnt even think ghetto.

and Im talking within rock throwing distance...

Mutt 01-23-2010 10:49 PM

that's good to know.

heymatty 01-23-2010 10:50 PM

Also on the corner of Cactus and Tatum there's an In and Out if the model is whining about being hungry.

your place is near there?

heymatty 01-23-2010 11:02 PM

No I'm 20 minutes east of there. Next week moving 10 more minutes east.

I'm not sure in that location you'll have a private backyard though.

Jon Oso 01-23-2010 11:08 PM

That's not a bad part of town at all. If you can get a house in that area to shoot in you probably won't be bothered too much. I haven't lived in that area in a long time (years) but from what I recall it's pretty laid back and you don't get very ghetto until you hit about 24th street in that part of the city. The further east into Scottsdale you go, the nicer it gets. I grew up around 124th ST and Shea and my girlfriend in high school lived right up the road from there at Cactus and Hayden so I was around there quite a bit.

Houses are sitting for a long time here because no one has money. I found a 4 bedroom house in South Scottsdale for under 200K and it had both a pool and marble floors.

From what I hear almost every house in Phoenix is 1/2 price. I've heard of properties going for a third of what they were on the market a few years ago. I would definitely look around more.

Mark

You're right, we are just down the street from the house I think Mutt was mentioning. I think there are only a couple of homes for sale on that street and the nicest one my wife would love to have.....of course ;)
You know you are always welcome, please do hit us up when you come to town.
