I miss this band .... Guns N' Roses
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...uns460x276.jpg
Axl and Slash were unbeatable back in the day. Along with Duff and Izzy and Stevie. I loved the Illusions tour lineup too after Izzy left with Matt Sorum on drums and Gilby Clarke on guitars. And I actually love Chinese Democracy and listen to it a lot and saw them rocking in 2006, twice. They're talented and it's great seeing Axl rock it again ... and he did rock it hard on stage. Fucking incredible. I've also seen Velvet Revolver twice too and they blew me away too. Slash is my freakin' hero! lol But ... this was the heyday of G N' R (late 80's and early 90's) and they were the biggest and best band in the world. I listen to Guns N' Roses every single day. EVERY single day. To remind yourselves of how good they were ... listen to Appetite for Destruction, GnR Lies (Or if you're luck enough to own it, Live Like a Suicide too), Use Your Illusion I and II, The Spaghetti Incident. ALL awesome AWESOME albums! |
Agree... I miss hard rock and grunge in general.
|
I met Axle and Slash
Axle was a drucken asshole and Slash was laid back and cool, I remember him promoting Black Death Vodka |
Yeah, they were awesome. :-)

I saw the at Madison Square Garden during their "Use Your Illusion" tour, and Soundgarden opened for them. They were great live. :thumbsup
|
Loved their first couple of albums. Could not stand Axl's voice live though.
I did however get to hang and party with him in his apt above Sunset one night almost all night long. It was great talking shop with him and drinking Dom and beer. He was not high and really fucking cool. It is one of my great Hollywood memories from my Strip days. |

I have read Nikki Sixx's book and have the sountrack too and I gotta say. Awesome!
Slash's book is awesome too. I love the debauched shit you read. Sure they fucked their lives up, but they lived through the shit and had a great time and still do. They're inspiring :P LOL! |

Guns n' Roses is on tour right now.

I try not to miss any rock band...

Appetite came out when i was in grade 6. I loved the band. My friends and I drew hundreds of logos/t shirt designs we somehow thought we might be able to sell to them, lol. I still think they're great and am seeing them this saturday. I only wish at least slash was still there if not the whole line up.

Steven PopCorn Adler will always be the GNR drummer to those who were with them before the gayness
|
I've seen GNR live. Axl is a dick.
|
I've got tix for Thurs - should just be called the Axl show but still have to go..
|
My favorite band of all time. Seen them a few times actually.

I have tickets to the show tomorrow night in Montreal, should be somewhat nostalgic even though Axl looks like an overweight hillbilly and heès the only original band member left!
|
How is it GnR? Its just Axel Rose right?
|
Really good band indeed
|
Welcome to the Jungle is still one of my favorites
|
They will probably do a reunion tour like all bands one day. hopefully sooner than later.
|
Im actually listening to Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses & Poison at the moment.. Good times :thumbsup

I listen to them just about everyday myself. I love them. Axl made the group. I know Slash is a great guitarist and everything. But nothing beats Axl's voice. I saw him preform not sure if it was 06 or 07 but he was amazing.
|
Axle Rose is a douche bag

He also performed on the released version of the Chinese Democracy album. Axl didn't replace all his parts. |

That's a naive view. Chinese Democracy, as cool and awesome as it is, is proof that Axl DID need the old band to have that feel. Velvet Revolver proves that Slash etc needed Axl too. The fact is ... Guns made awesome music because they were a great band who worked well together. It was not one man. |
Not a huge fan of the new album... waited for it for years and years and years... I guess after that build up it was a bit of a let down.
I have to say that NIN has stayed very strong over the years... Trent hasn't lost one step. I guess losing a bunch of his money and being forced to tour and make new albums didn't hurt. Saw him/them 4 times in 2 years... pretty cool. Even more so seeing them at a tiny BBQ place here in Austin... amazing show! |
I readed in newspapers how they didn't allowed fans who had slash hat to enter concert.

Chinese Democraty has some very good songs mixed with more average songs but the sound sucks. It wayyyyyyyyy over produced.
appetite was way more energetic because it was raw and nasty. That made it sound sooo damn good, even by today's standart. |
