Avatar made it to $2,039,222,000...
When will this movie stop making money? And how much more will it make?

Much more and then some. DVD sales will go through the roof, expect more of some stupid collection cars and other items to milk every possible cent out of obsessed people.

Jarmusch 01-31-2010 05:18 PM

Cyber Fucker 01-31-2010 05:40 PM

That's the nice money. :D

The Demon 01-31-2010 05:50 PM

I think if it wins a few oscars, it has a chance for 3 billion.

Iron Fist 01-31-2010 07:05 PM

Unbelievable... 2 billion dollars!

Catalyst 01-31-2010 07:11 PM

that is a lot of coin..

Relentless 01-31-2010 07:15 PM

The even bigger money will come from all the 3D televisions companies are able to sell as a result of avatar. Sony and others will make money for decades off the success of the movie.

brassmonkey 01-31-2010 07:15 PM

damn..........

epitome 01-31-2010 08:51 PM

A few heavyweights in entertainment started heavily investing in 3d a few years back. A lot of people called them crazy and said they were going to lose a ton of money. Now all of the studios are going to go crazy over 3d. Soon it will be standard. Those were some smart guys. Probably friends of James Cameron.

MrBottomTooth 01-31-2010 09:06 PM

I know someone that went to see it on Saturday night and the theater was sold out. Crazy it is still selling out theaters after all this time.

beta-tester 01-31-2010 09:11 PM

Just W O W!

Cameron did it with the style :pimp

Congratulations!

dooglas 01-31-2010 09:12 PM

The only decent torrent i've seen is a bad russian cam copy... besides, you got to see it in 3D... it just isn't worth it without 3D. :thumbsup

FrozenJag 01-31-2010 10:11 PM

Seen it twice with two seperate people. Hell, I probably would go a thhird time.

Was one of the best movies id ever seen. Reminds me when Jurassic Park came out and everybody went bonkers over it. Like one of those movies that just raises the bar in a huge way.

fatfoo 01-31-2010 10:16 PM

Yeah, I gave them about $10 to see the movie. That's part of the $2 billion.

I saw the movie. I enjoyed it.

It would be more interesting with pornography - but then it would have to be 18+ and it would not sell younger audiences.

trevesty 01-31-2010 10:52 PM

I've still not seen it. That "type" of film isn't my thing, but several like-minded friends have said it's an absolute must see..

BFT3K 01-31-2010 10:57 PM

Wow, that's more than I made all year!

Spunky 01-31-2010 10:59 PM

I'll wait for the rental, which will probably be another 100 mil

karapandza 02-01-2010 03:29 AM

Now every bigger franchise is gonna come out in 3D... Clash of Titans, Spider-man, Shrek 4, Toy Story 3... They are probably going to make Transformers 3, Green Lantern and movies of that type in 3D as well... Hollywood!!!

tranza 02-01-2010 09:15 AM

That is a lot of money indeed!

xxweekxx 02-01-2010 09:23 AM

i saw it yesterday (SUNDAY NIGHT), and there was still a fucking line and it was sold out..

michael.kickass 02-01-2010 10:32 AM

Roby 02-01-2010 12:27 PM

NetHorse 02-01-2010 12:33 PM

Haven't seen it yet and I don't plan on it.

Semi-Retired-Dave 02-01-2010 12:37 PM

I think it's amazing he beat out his own record. So many directors and producers in this town and he tops his own record. Pretty damn Amazing.
