Why are these fucking assholes calling me?
OK...wtf??? I got a phone call on my goddamn cell phone this morning with "Caller ID Unavailable" on the screen. "Hi, I am looking for Shamrock Tanner" <---my name is Tanner Shamrock.
"Hi, this is Chris from Verio.com and I noticed that you just registered a certain domain name and I would like to know if you need hosting for that website." Ok, I registered at liquidpages.com and have never gone to Verio.com before. I have also done 2 whois searches and cannot find my cell phone number on either of them. How are these fucking assholes getting my number and why the fuck are they calling me? To fucking top this off, they have called 4 times within the past 15 minutes and when I say Hello, they immediately hang up. This is bullshit. Chris from Verio, I hope you die! Take me off your list! I also want to know if liquidpages is fucking giving out people's information. |
If they are hanging up, it may be a bit more difficult now, but a friend of mine makes a some decent "spending money" suing telemarkers.
There are regulations (federal?) that control what they can do and what they must do when you request being removed from their calling lists. If they don't comply it's something like a $750 fine per incident if I'm not mistaken (this may be regional). He has quite a system. He asks to be removed, asks for the callers name and takes a picture of his caller ID if it's available. He then asks for them to send him a copy of their do-no-call policy and their address. It sounds like a pain in the ass to me, but I think he does it for the love of confrontation more than anything. |
