Hes a good dog!
Very calm, pretty well mannered, he just decides to be deaf sometimes. Anyway hes a german shepherd/malamute husky mix. http://www.nofupas.com/tazz/1.jpg http://www.nofupas.com/tazz/2.jpg http://www.nofupas.com/tazz/3.jpg Hes protective yet not one of those aggressive dogs. Last year we lived by a couple that had horses and dobermans. Well our place was adjacent to their horse field. I learned then that my dog has a great temper control. One time all dogs wer eout, the two dobermans in their yard, Tazz in ours... They all three of course met at the fence. But there was a huge difference in behavior. The two dobermans just snapping at the fence barking non stop. Not trying to lunge through or over the fence or nothing, just flipping out at the fence. My dog walks closer, not one bark, sniffs in their direction, turns, lifts a leg and pisses right at them and walks away. I knew then that he was rock solid! Dont get me wrong, he flips out when me n the misses wrestle or if anyone is aggressive towards us. Id say the perfect balance. Ive always wanted a Dane though too... |

Don't you just LOVE a Great Dane... We really wanted to NOT crop ours ears but the vet said his ears were oversized and he would have problems later in life with his ears flopping down over his eyes.. so he actually suggested cropping them... |

We cropped the ears on one of the Solid blue males since we are going to be showing him. It's a very long show crop. He's been taped now for close to 2 months. Most our danes are Euro blood lines, so a little larger heads than american danes. More blocky. Ash was a goofy dane from a litter that was had when we had out Mantel Boy studded. Ash was the last of the litter and we took him just because of his personality. Right now, I'm building a new 32x16 building just for the danes and hope to have it done over the next 2 weeks. People around here call them our horses LOL. Unfortunately, we can't let them run the full yard free, we do let then out to run 1 or 2 at a time with supervision but we also have chickens, (about 40 of them) and let me tell you, to danes they are like the greatest chew toy ever put on the planet! So, for the sake of the poor chickens they have runs. When I'm done with this latest project I hope to have about an acer of fenced off area for them. |
