I love bringing up Switzerland when people try to tell me that it's the availability of guns in the US is what causes crime

Wonder how that's gonna go when they have no military defense.

Having no defense only works if you also don't have any opinions or take any sides in any conflicts. But after the approving of a ban on minarets on mosques built in Switzerland, they kind of make it harder for themselves.

In Switzerland they have mandatory military service. LOL, imagine telling an nineteen year old American kid that they can't go to college because they have to go through boot camp and then serve the military for a year. Not fit for military service? No problem - They'll put you to work for a year in the "civilian service" - which I'm guessing is like the peace corps.

I would love to see every American teenager join the military for at least a year.

Switzerland is a wealthy country with a socialist form of welfare for its citizens. People are less likely to be violent when they aren't worried where their next meal will come from, living in a cardboard box, substance abuse, and other issues associated with poverty.

Well , if you live in the US and don't like guns and think they should be outlawed, put up a sign in your front yard that says you don't have any guns and stick with you convictions

Switzerland is also a country founded by Templar bankers a little after the crusade, so they have a few hundred years on us when it comes to making money. They've also managed to make a lot more by staying neutral..


Btw, I love it when people blame guns or gun control, rather than the people using them. Gotta love those who hate personal responsibility!

I've always found the "home invasion" defense for no regulation on guns, funny. In my 35 years, I've known thousands of people who lived in homes, apartments, good areas, bad areas... not one of them has ever been home invaded or in a situation where there was an intruder in their house and they needed a gun to defend themselves. Do you know many people who have? I've asked some of my friends and they don't know of any either. I don't think it's an epidemic, is it? Based on frequency of occurrence, if you're scared of that, you should be shitting your pants over fear of getting in a car accident. I'm not in favor of banning guns in any way, but some of the arguments for non regulation use some funny and creative logic, based on unlikely hypothetical situations and invented threats.
