Anybody Wanna Buy a Month Old Amazon Kindle DX? I'm switching to iPad.
The entry level iPad is only $10 more than the Kindle DX. The DX has 3GB of memory. The iPad has 16GB. The Kindle is in shades of black. The iPad is in color. The Kindle reads books. The iPad reads books, and does 15 billion other things.
Not surprisingly, I'm selling my Kindle DX and replacing it with an iPad. If there are any Mac haters that would rather be retarded and buy a Kindle DX instead of an iPad, please let me know. I've also got a bridge I'm considering putting up for sale. I figure I'll be looking for a person with the same sort of mentality to buy it, so keep that in mind as well. |
No, I am not interested in buying it.

Way to sell something...LOL.
Who wants to buy my piece of shit Kindle so I can get a kick ass iPad? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
...or you can simply buy iphone and get same shit.
|
hey Donny why don't you fuck off and leave us miserable sinners alone?
|
Are you selling a bridge to nowhere? How much?
|
I refuse to buy or own anything Apple has made or ever will make. Overpriced, underpowered crap bought by people who think they are cool because they have something "different". But, hey, you enjoy!

Did donny's original nick get banned? Hmmm....
Cheesehead Nacho Burger is pretty original, but screams throwaway fakenick. |
I was thinking of buying one for a 7 year old I am trying to get into reading, but I did not feel like spending $250 for it.

Congrats on the move to an IPad. :)

You might want to test reading a book on the lovely colorful, bright, ipad before you throw away your kindle... It will SUCK for reading a lot of text, thats what most people forget to consider.

You forgot to mention the iPad doesn't have electronic ink, the whole point of getting a kindle, you fucking moron.

you're not helping your case!

Which service offers free live updated offsite backup of your entire library just in case you drop the device in a toilet or something?

The iPad runs iPhone apps. The iPhone has a Kindle Reader app and a Barnes & Noble eReader app. In other words, on an iPad a person isn't limited in where they'll buy books (as on the Kindle and Nook) 'cause Kindle and B&N books will work too. We don't yet know if the Apple bookstore will store your purchase history - which is really all the Kindle does: stores what you've purchased and lets you download it again free if you "drop your device in the toilet or something". |
Well thats somewhat reassuring at least. I am reluctant to give up paper books for any electronic device to begin with. I also like buying books for only 3 or 4 bucks.
Imagine being in the middle of a juicy story and "oops", you dripped water on your device and now you have to wait to buy a new one, or for a repair? Then re-download or recover any hurt data.. yeee ikes. I think it may be a while before I give up paper books. |

Printed books feel better in my hands while sipping coffee at a coffee shop, that's for sure. Then again, when a person recommends a book to me - which happens all the time amongst those who read a lot, as you know - I can instantly download it. I like that. Both the Kindle and iPad are as thin as most magazines, and reading on one is a lot like reading a magazine. |
