Just as I was about to dump all CCbill sponsors they come good again. Gone from 1/1500 for the past months, to 1/120 for the past 3 days. This is the way they used to process sales for me for years, just hope it stays somewhere near this from here on...:thumbsup

...because we all know CCBill hates processing sales. They make their money by taking a percentage of sales, and who wants to make money, anyway? Their staff works for free. They have no expenses. Yeah... CCBill is just DYING to decline sales.

They scrub pretty hard most days. Regardless of how much money they want or need to make.

They lead the industry in scrubbing, my Verotel stuff consistantly outsells CCbill. So yes they do decline way more sales than other processors. Anyway the sales have vanished again, it was nice of them to allow the floodgates to open for 3 days at least...:Oh crap

Advice: the next time sales are slow, check out absolutely every other option before pinning the blame on a company that only makes money when YOU do. It's elementary, my dear Watson.

Good to hear sales are back up and conversions are at a high. In CCBill's defense, most don't think that declines cost CCBill money. By my estimate from the cost of gateway look ups and overhead, I'd say around $.10 per decline however, it could be more. Their business model does not pass this charge along. If they don't approve the transaction, they not only do not make a profit, they loose money.

Another interesting note on conversions and traffic over the past few years. I have seen a dramatic rise in decline rates and if you speak with any major bank (which I have) they will tell you this rise is overall among all credit card users. Reasons: Bad Economy= lower credit limits,maxed credit limits and reduced daily transaction limits.

If 10% of the country is unemployed and another 10% are under employed (making less than what they need to survive) it goes without saying that they are leveraging their credit cards.

In the end, when I see a rise in decline rates reported, I usually also see from my 30,000' view, a decline in digital sales across the board while at the same time, traffic levels remaining high.

My sites use Verotel, and sales are still steady, it's the extra CCbill stuff I promote that is all over the place.
