that's what an F1 race should be like

after the relatively boring Bahrain race, it was good to see a race with some overtaking, shunts and excitment (the weather helped). good win by button, hamilton was unfortunate to get pulled in for a tyre change when it wasn't needed otherwise it would have been a mclaren 1-2. can't wait for next weeks race.

i was going to put some money on hamilton for the drivers championship yesterday, i could have got 10/1 odds, its dropped to 6/1 today. still worth a punt i think.

CamTraffic 03-28-2010 08:28 AM

Dont know about betting on it
I saw one live in France back in 95, it was bad ass!

Wilsy 03-28-2010 08:32 AM

Yeah great race bit of bad luck for hamilton specially getting shunted on the second from last lap. I agree one of the best races i have seen for a while and what a great drive by button. I am also looking forward to the next race.

MaDalton 03-28-2010 08:39 AM

Vettel would have won both races if the car didn't break down both times. the season has just started, i would still put my money on him

Si 03-28-2010 08:47 AM

I agree bahrain was fucking shit but if I remember right, last year was aswell.

Good win for button indeed. Nice to see Vettel fail again! I hate that odd looking little fucker. Hopefully hamilton can get it together next race and get a mclaren 1-2 next week.

Good luck with putting your money in the right place, roly.

With gambling, the chances are always against you, aren't they.

John-ACWM 03-28-2010 09:11 AM

It all depends on how the drivers choose to entertain us :)

Maxxx9000 03-28-2010 10:40 AM

Great fucking race. Always looking forward to the Melbourne track.

Danny B 03-29-2010 01:31 AM

I was very entertained.
Schumacher and Hamilton has bad luck, not to mention poor Vettel.
Hamilton really impressed me with a couple of legendary takeovers.

And Damn Kamikaze kobayashi WTF!

too bad Vettel had such bad luck again. But there is no doubt he was the fastest driver again and it's just a matter of time until he wins some gps. :thumbsup

Very unlucky for Lewis. His team made a bad call, then that idiot Webber gets in his way twice. No wonder the odds on him winning the championship dropped. As soon as he gets rid of all this bad luck, it is going to take some stopping him.

I don't know why you thought that. It's actually getting bigger and expanding.

But why was he so far down the grid in the first place?

punkpred 03-29-2010 05:48 AM

Alonso from last to 4th no doubt the best in f1

becuase he had a poor qualifying lap, in the second knockout stage, its happens. but he showed what he's capable of with the race on sunday. without being pulled in for the unessarcary tyre change he would have finished 2nd which from 11th on the grid is impressive. and if he had had the same tyre stratedgy as button he could well have won.

What 'could' have happened is all 'ifs and buts' we will never know. There is no way to say if her would have finished 2nd at all. He finished 6th. What's to say that if he did have the he got past the Ferrari's and Kubica and ended up on Button's tail that he wouldn't have taken out both Button and himself trying to get first.

What we do know is, he fucked up the qualifying, got a poor position on the grid and had to deal with it.

Each race is never clear cut. There's too many variables.

well obviosuly, but he didn't break down or crash, so it can be assumed that there's a decent probabilty that he would have finished 2nd. he was quicker than those in front of him.

And yet he didn't manage to pass them. I think the red mist came down and he lost it under pressure :)

well he wouldn't have had to, if he hadn't been pulled in for the unessarcary tyre change he was challenging or 2nd place at the time when he was called in to the pits.

I used to watch F1 regularly while there were damon hill and mika hakkinen. After them it's simply too boring.
