That is FUCKED up... as a former USMC Scout Sniper this makes me fucking rage... really even as a human being but... even more so that I recently had a friend catch a sniper round just under his helmet line...

But when we show our snipers shooting THEM on TV it's ok. I'm a big believer in not being hypocrtical.

I've never seen a sniper shot on tv but a single important shot I'm ok with... First lemme explain about US military snipers... They only take shots of opportunity that can change the game completely. They do not pick off general troops... you'd run the risk of revealing your location. One of the best shots ever made was a USMC sniper in the Gulf... Over a mile away he landed a shot on a tank brigade commander. The entire brigade buttoned up and turned around. A good sniper SAVES lives by taking out key personnel or machinery.

A three month long montage of all your shots... NOT OK. And these were not key players they're just picking people off.

I don't think you understand war if you think shooting the enemy is a bad idea...

Ok first of all I'm not bashing our snipers. So I'm not sure you feel you have to defend them. My point is if it's not ok for them show them killing our guys and showing off our soldiers dead bodies then it's not ok with us to do the same to them. That's like Tiger Woods being outraged at Jesse James for cheating on Sandra Bullock.

I don't think you understand the first thing about military strategy if you think popping off shots at general troops is what highly trained snipers should be doing...

I've seen a few on there but didn't see any shots against human beings, I guess I missed that one. That being said an educational video produced by the History Channel is a little different than a 3 month montage of kill shots...


I'm not condoning this on either side but I've NEVER seen anything from the US that was released to the public that was a montage of deaths...

Maybe draw attention to the fact that we aren't accomplishing shit by being over there... Maybe a few people will be as outraged as I am and contact their representatives in Congress...

War is death. That's why it sucks so bad. And if you think we don't have plenty of Americans that wouldn't love to watch a 3 month montage of Muslims getting their brains blown out if they had access to such footage your crazy. I don't think death shoud be glorified no matter who is doing it.

These aren't highly trained fighters :) They're most likely your average guerilla's, which means they might have good aim, but they're not well trained.

Call them to do what? We have plan to get out of Iraq. The number of US troops in Iraq gets smaller every day. As far as Afghanistan. Well the Taliban allowed Al Qaeda to flourish. The last thing we need is for them to take over again and let AL qaeda have free reign to plan more 9-11s. There is still alot heading over to replace those leaving, national gaurd here is scheduled to move a bunch of troops out in september heading to iraq. They didn't give the guys an idea of how many but there is alot going.

It was promised a specific number would leave the country but not how many would head back to replace them. Everyone seemed to just assume that we would be leaving for good.

is cool , I was with a sniper unit in iraq back in 06 their snipers wasted 15 marines in 9 months, our snipers wasted 146 :) I can live with that ratio :) My buddys who are still in says that the ratio is even higher now
