Oliver Stone Made Me Like George Bush

I swear I'm a dedicated democrat from Massachusetts now living in Los Angeles California, but this movie W. by Oliver Stone has actually made me like Little Bush.

I don't know if it's because Stone liked Bush but hates Republicans or what the fuck but I hated his other president movies like JFK and Nixon, but I really like this one.

Maybe I just lived through it and want to think this is how this guy had to be since we elected him and Ollie wants to think this too. I don't know but I watched this move t three times with full intentions of fucking hating it and I can't do it.

If Ollie is reading this do one more movie about a guy you like but hate his policies, the way Sean Penn does his activism. I can see Oscars just flooding in for this guy with this formula.

Shit maybe a SEAN PENN bio - awesome. I want my cut for the idea! :1orglaugh

Made you like him or made you feel sorry for him?

A little of both LOL. Probably the later though. :1orglaugh Dude, did you see this movie? Probably you won't like it, but I just have to know if you can sit through it. Not trying to force anything on you that will waste a good couple hours of your life. I actually can't understand why I like it. Maybe what you said.

Why won't I like it? Oliver Stone is one of my favorite directors. Been trying to get my hands on the movie for a while now.

I don't know, maybe you will. I don't want to pump it up too much. I haven't really like any Oliver Stone directed movies since Platoon and Wall Street myself except NBK which took me a long long time to like.

But i think Platoon deserves worship by film nerds, and all his scripts up to that point were phenomenal.

Oh, P.S. it's on cable right now. On demand I think probably if you have cable!

I'm a big football, Al Pacino and Oliver Stone fan so I loved Any Given Sunday when it first came out.

Agreed on Wall Street.

I thought JFK and Nixon were great movies.

Born of the 4th of July was great, as was Platoon.

The Doors was also very good. Val Kilmer did a great Jim Morrison.

Alexander sucked.

Loved fourth of July, but think I already said I hated and still hate JFK and Nixon - too fake!

Doors I'm sort of nuetral on - no complaints if you can be neutral on a flick.

I used to love stone scripts (Midnight Express, Scarface, Etc.) long before he started directing.

P.S. Any Given Sunday - Can't decide. Did you ever see playmakers produced by ESPN before the NFL made them stop it? It was like a North Dallas Forty Series. Remember North Dallas Forty, probably the inspiration for Any Given Sunday

You should check out both definitely. They blow ANY GIVEN SUNDAY away, but I have gotten a better respect for ANY GIVEN SUNDAY recently. Still I think if you can find that PLAYMAKERS series on bit torrent and especially NORTH DALLAS FORTY with Nick Nolte and Mac Davis, you'll see where it all started.

North Dallas Forty I think was based on the Cowboys way way back written by the tight end with that famous quarterback from the Cowboys before Stabach that turned into the announcer

Remember THE REPLACEMENTS, that's based on the real part of the strike where the cowboy pros where beaten by the redskin scabs when the cowboys crossed the picket line first. LOL :1orglaugh

I'm a Patriots fan - Don't start! I'm waiting for us to get a team in Los Angeles again.

Yes, I actually have that game on tape. Monday night game, very cool. Cowgirls got totally owned. A lot of people don't know The Replacements are based on that true story. Kudos :thumbsup
