They are just for getting your once a year free report from each bureau that you are legally entitled to. If you want the 3 in 1 and score, or the credit report monitoring, then go to any of the three major credit bureau sites directly, transunion.com, equifax.com, and experian.com. I've used the monitoring from equifax.com for years and have no complaints, but I believe experian.com is the cheapest ($9.95 a month). None of the three have cross sells...

yeah, watch out for those sites, they like to bang cards, xsell, etc and they rely on recurring billing and hope people forget about it.

you can do MyFICO.com , they are pretty good and give a lot of extra info in their report.

freecreditreport.com wasn't that bad, i tried a couple out as I used to work in the home finance and credit field. Just make sure you cancel their special service within 30 days, wasn't a biggie.

annualcreditreport.com <-- the only legit one. you can also buy your FICO score from there.

Fatfoo is right, if you call up an independent agent and get an insurance quote, they pull your credit and they can tell you the score. Won't be all 3, it'll be whichever one they use.

Usually banks and the like pull experian but it could be any of the three. Getting only one score is useless unless a bank is only using that one score to determine if you get a loan.

For most places and for mortgages they use the middle of the three scores, so lets say you score 520, 550 and 640, the only score that matters is the 550 which wont do much for you now... and you happen to pull the 640 and think you are doing ok. I remember when you could have a 520 and get a decent mortgage no problem lol

Best to get all three scores, plus if you have a mistake, its usually only going to be on one of the scores, so checking just one wont catch it.

AnnualCreditReport.com is run by the government so they're legit. All the others will screw you monthly

i pay 12.95 a month and send me alerts if there is a change on my credit score...

I have been using http://www.truecredit.com/. If you wanna cancel you have to call them up but I have let it rebill for 2-3 years now as I like keeping an eye on all 3.

Anyone push credit reports as an affiliate? Seems like it would be an easy sell. Wonder if you get rebills.
