A Greek Riddle
A tourist comes into a small town's only hotel, puts 100 Euro on the counter and says: `I'm going upstairs to choose a room`. The hotel manager takes the 100 and pays his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the 100 and pays his debt to the farmer who provided him meat. The farmer takes the 100 and pays his debt to a prostitute. The hooker takes the 100 and goes to the hotel and pays her debt. At that moment the tourist comes down, takes the 100 and says: `Sorry, could not find a room that I like!`.
Was everyone's debt just erased? Who lost? Who gained? |
No refund! hehe..

Yes, all the debt was erased.
The hotel manager had 100 accounts payable and 100 accounts receivable. |
Haha, nice one :)
|
If the tourist is able to reclaim his 100 Euro, then the hotel manager is out 100 Euro.
The manager is the loser, and all of the people who were paid what they were owed are the winners. The tourist comes out even, unless L-Pink is correct regarding the free toilet use, in which case he is also a winner. |
Hotel/Manager lost everybody else gained by erasing their debt except the tourist who was an even wash.
|
Yeah its all erased ... thats a good one!

From tourist +$100 To butcher -$100 From hooker +$100 To tourist -$100 = $0 change |

The part where the hooker paid the hotel didn't sink in for some reason. FATFOO FOR THE WIN! |
ahahahahahaha

money rotation-from the left pocket to the right! This the greek business these days.

If the guest (let's call him Stavros Papadakalos) came and took his 100 "back" then he effectively nullified the transaction so there is no receivable associated with it. The hotel manager misallocated his cash flow by anticipating a conclusion to a transaction that was not complete. All the other debts are satisfied. Assuming that the bill, which is fungible, has any link to the actual payment is the logical error here. |
the tourist looses out as by the time he gets his 100 back the euro has lost its value, plus he cannot stay in the hotel as everyone is on strike or on a riot.
|
I think the manager must have lost out, because if theres time for the hotel to pay the butcher, and the butcher to pay the farmer, and the farmer to pay the hooker, and for the hooker to come back to the hotel and pay the hotel guy...
Then the 'Guest' must have spent a fucking hell of a long time in the room... What the fuck was he doing up there? Jackin off ? Did he wipe it on the curtains? OR was he with the hooker getting a freebie while the farmer and the butcher looked on, indulging in gay sex? Did the farmer bring an animal to participate? Did the butcher kill it? Was it a donkey for the hooker so she could do a 'warm up' show to get everyone in the mood? And what about the hotel owners Internet costs? I mean, to have a hidden cam installed along with a live stream to the net, to take money for the live stream? and what percentage did the billing company take? I'm conffuzzled ! |
Interesting yet not gonna analyze it in detail.
|
the manager loses because the Hooker owed him 100 euro. Now the hooker has paid the money back.

the manager does not loose. he has paid of his dept. he has not gained, nor lost. he the chap had not come in his hotel he would not have paid his debt. |

Was the hooker on a hooking tour?
|
if it's a greek riddle, there's only 1 answer. A Shepard, a sheep, and anal sex. where's Balki Bartokomous when you need him?
|
3 people dead today from the riots in Athens, one of them pregnant so 4 people died to be accurate....
Was in the center of the city this morning and I from what I saw and heard most people are getting really desperate, so the above riddle doesnt really apply to them.... sad sad sad four people dead for nothing.... |
Clever One!
|
People, HOOKER PAYED 100$ TO THE HOTEL MANAGER, so when tourist came down and took 100$, Hotel manager did get nothing (+100$ to butcher and -100$ tourist took from manager) , and butcher and hooker made their day. So its kinda nice cash fluctuation if its possible :D
