Nursing feral kitten to health, anyone have experience?
 

Well some feral cat had kittens under a stack of lumber in my moms backyard. The cats are about 5-6weeks old, they look sick so we are trying to do what we can. We took one home and trying to nurse him back to health, he ate, pooped, I cleaned his crusty eyes etc...

ive never done this before, anyone know about dealing with feral kittens? Ive read tons of online guides, even watched vids, but personal experience is always good to hear...

I've raised wild birds, but never wild kittens...

Dont feed them milk as they cannot digest it. You have to get formula.

It may not be the best thing for humans, but get some baby formula like Enfalac and an eye-dropper if they're very young and feed them that - that'll fatten 'em up real good until they're ready for solids...

qft I nursed a three kittens back to health that my sister found after a hurricane in Florida. I went to the local vet and picked up some kitten formula and they have these little mini bottles you can get... The kittens I had were so small I had to cut a part of the nipple off so I could drop it into their mouths...

Every three hours those little guys are gonna be hungry!

I found a home for two and kept one. Sweetest cat I ever owned it followed me EVERYWHERE... Even shaving and brushing my teeth she would hang out on the sink and just stare at me, hahahah.

Wear thick gloves LOL

They actually have kitten formula at the big chains like Petsmart, PetSupermarket and PetCo.

Good luck. I tried to do that once and it didn't work out for me, kitten was tame until about a year, then regressed. No idea why. Went from being the ultimate cuddle bug to a cat that couldn't even be touched. :(

I used to live in a small Quebec village and everytime I went to the store down the hill the cats would follow, and wait behind the building, then follow me back.

One night a local old ladysaw this and as we were crossing paths she stopped, looking scared, and asked, "They're not evil are they?"

lol you have to understand this province is deeply catholic and the old timers have some really old beliefs under their belts...
