Hell, my Mom still thinks I am nuts for making sure my 4 month old son always sleeps on his back. In her day babies were supposed to sleep on their stomach.

I meant the flouride thing I thought that was quite odd. I sleep my kid on his stomach sometimes, seems to make him get the gas out.

There's big debate over whether fluoride is safe or not. I'm leaning towards the "not" and I certainly wouldn't be giving my child a fluoride supplement.

This is funny, so true. They used to say never put a baby on it's back, now it's never put a baby on it's stomach. I just had twins, well they will be a year this Friday. Every 10 years they change this system around. Pretty soon they'll say leave them on their sides. lol

I wasn't suggesting that reacting to a medical issue was a problem - more the huge list (if someone actually compiled one) of things we can and cannot do when raising a child. Some of those things are fairly petty and are akin to weaving your child into a protective cocoon. Let them be kids.

I assume you're talking about the "Toxic" thing, right? Do you have any idea how many everyday things are toxic in large doses?

Potassium, sodium, selenium, iron, even ingesting too much water will kill you. I can't begin to comment on the safety of whatever is in those bags but actual fluoride is safe in the amounts added to water supplies.

Bullshit. When is the last time you were in a nursery? I've had occasion to be in a nursery for a few days and all of the babies were on their backs or sides.

True, I let my son sleep on my chest. Sometimes it's the only way he will go to sleep but when I put him in bed he goes on his back. He can roll over now so I think we can stop sweating the sleeping position now but still.
