What do you think?

TrainWreckContent 06-01-2010 11:56 PM

doesnt really seem like there are very many good horror movies lately...when you think about the older ones like friday the 13th, the exorcist (classic), halloween (not the remake tho that wasnt bad) and even the orginal nightmare on elm street (this remake sucked), none of the newer horror movies even compare

leg4 06-01-2010 11:57 PM

I really, really enjoyed House of 1000 Corpses.

NaughtyRob 06-02-2010 12:02 AM

The first couple Saws.

cardinalvices 06-02-2010 12:08 AM

The Ring.

Then I can add Hitman. Its not a horror movie, but its completely horrible.

The SAW(all movies), the haunting in connecticut, drag me to hell...... actually there is a big list of good horror movies. It`s very hard to find one that will be the best one

seeandsee 06-02-2010 04:00 AM

saw, cube, ring, collector

Caligari 06-02-2010 05:32 AM

Cabin Fever
House of a 1000 Corpses
Cloverfield
Zombieland
The Road (not exactly horror genre, but its horror)
REC and REC 2 (the spanish originals)
Antichrist

Buncha 06-02-2010 06:12 AM

Here's some horror flicks I really enjoyed in the past decade. In no particular order:

Ginger Snaps
Jeepers Creepers
Wrong Turn
The Others
Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon
Dead Set
Dog Soldiers
Identity
Frailty
The Ring
The Mist
The Descent
The Orphanage
The Devil's Backbone
Pan's Labyrinth
Trick 'R Treat
Dead End
Cold Prey
Haute Tension

NBBCash Matze 06-02-2010 06:21 AM

Martyrs
Hostel
Saw
Frontiers
28 Weeks Later (I think it's one of the better Zombie movies in the past few years but of course not as good as the Zombie Movies from the 80s/90s by Fulci, Romero & Co.)

Going to watch "The Crazies" tonight (remake), hope it's a good one. The Original is quite good.

scarlettcontent 06-02-2010 06:23 AM

The Others

CaptainHowdy 06-02-2010 06:23 AM

"Saw III" and the remakes of "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Dawn of the Dead"...

thickcash_amo 06-02-2010 06:42 AM

I'm all in for The Ring!

I agree with this :2 cents:

The 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead would be at or near the top of my list (of best horror movies of the 2000's)

2000's American Psycho deserves a mention.

The Grindhouse double feature including Death Proof and Planet Terror, absolutely loved these films. (Rose McGowan, yeah!)

2003's Wrong Turn was pretty good.

This new one coming out called "Splice" looks promising, at least by the trailer I saw a few days ago.

forgot about American Psycho. Wrong Turn and Dawn of the Dead remake as well.

Damn there have been some really good horror flicks in the last 10 years!

Splinter is one cool low budget horror film, fairly original creature.

Jeepers Creepers

I think that's the only time Ive ever walked out of a movie theater. I still want my money back for that movie.

The Saw movies I like are the first two, although I wouldnt put them in the horror genre. The rest of the series became boring quickly. Like Hostal.

I've got to agree with The Orphanage though. That was a scary movie.

bronco67 06-02-2010 08:52 AM

The Descent

REC

Triangle (check this one out. Great movie)

Session 9

Dawn of the Dead (remake)

The Hills Have Eyes(remake)

28 Weeks Later

The Ring

MrBottomTooth 06-02-2010 08:53 AM

Devil's Rejects was great.

saucygirl 06-02-2010 08:53 AM

The Ring and Paranormal Activity.

SykkBoy 06-02-2010 09:09 AM

Battle Royale (more action than horror, but my favorite movie of all time)
Grindhouse
Inside
Haute Tension
REC
Tokyo Gore Police
Martyrs
Old Boy
Ichi The Killer
first couple SAW movies

RP Fade 06-02-2010 09:32 AM

Ring was great...Paranormal Activity really freaked me out in the end so it gets my vote as well.

michael.kickass 06-02-2010 09:51 AM

I think the SAW series were the best horror stuff of the decade.

John-ACWM 06-02-2010 10:36 AM

There's a pretty long list of good horror movies, in my opinion, Zombieland does a great job at combining horror with humor.
