A.

B.

Neither are a logo.

A logo is the apple symbol, or the nike swoosh. It is an icon that can (standalone) represent your brand.

A logotype is the name of your company using typography.

I don't think either work in either capacity.

a) Technically the "logo" here is a clipart phone and a yellow line. Not much to say about it really. Does nothing for me.

b) The "logo" here is a globe. Again. Boring, and nondescript. The typeface is better, although I wouldn't ever use all caps in anywhere, especially not in a strapline. CAPS MAKE THINGS HARDER TO COMPREHEND. We read words in shapes and when you use ALL CAPS THE SHAPE OF THE WORD DISAPPEARS. Meaning people will not read it.

You need to get someone that understands branding to work on making you a logo and a logotype.

IMHO :D

The second one.....good luck

closer 06-02-2010 06:18 AM

I concur with Damian, neither is a good logo

The best logo is a logo that is being recognised by surfers / customers without the company name / domain name in it.

Zuzana Designs 06-02-2010 06:20 AM

If I had to pick one I would say 2. But not a big fan of either of them.

CaptainHowdy 06-02-2010 06:21 AM

First one...

scarlettcontent 06-02-2010 06:26 AM

second one

Not a big fan of either but maybe placed on the website it could give a different effect.

You are absolutely right. Ninetynine percent of all so called "logo designers" dont get this. However if I had to choose between those two I would pick number 1 - number 2 says nothing.

i agree with everybody else, you should have a much better logo.

I think I would choose 1 over 2 as well because at least it conveys the message, but I would suggest maybe making the continents in the background a little lighter or your brand text a little darker so it stands out more. :2 cents:

Logotournament kicks ass. Keep in mind though you get out of it what you put in.

Make sure you put out a decent award and give designers feedback and rankings daily and you've got by far the best logo design solution. :thumbsup

Well yes but imho the continents should be skipped altogether, although I think they are just to be used when printing on big format material.

Neither image says anything about passwords to me.

The first makes me think travel.

The second makes me think lazy Indian designer.

+1

And someone told me ages ago something that stuck too - all the best logos are recognisable instantly even in grayscale.

True. If you work with a proper logo designer, the first drafts you get are ALWAYS in greyscale because colour has too many emotional attachments.

I can't think of a single decent adult logo apart from the PB bunny.

EDIT - I can't think of a single adult logo apart from the PB bunny...

Amputate Your Head 06-02-2010 07:23 AM

yeah, they are both not very good.

if I'm being forced to choose, i guess #1

Keep in mind though, most adult logos are very specialized and are never intended to be globally recognizable. For example, there's not much you're going to be able to do to a logo for a site like say, "Rest Home Bangers!" to cement the brand in the hearts and minds of the general population. Most people will never see it or hear about it. (not because of the logo). :2 cents:

I like #2

DBS.US 06-02-2010 07:32 AM

First one.

Scott McD 06-02-2010 07:34 AM

If you were going to use either, then i'd say B. But you should listen to the advice already been made in this thread...

96ukssob 06-02-2010 07:35 AM

#2 :thumbsup

first one has to much going on in the background and hard to focus on the message

Caligari 06-02-2010 07:38 AM

I don't know exactly how logos work, or the mentality behind them for being icons.
perfect example is the Nike logo.
http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:o.../nike_logo.gif

What the hell is that? its a fucking check mark! How does that relate to tennis shoes?

Does it signify speed? Agility?

Some logos are obvious and have the company name in them.
http://www.flycooltw.com/flycool/ima...%20logo%20.jpg

But then as with Nike the abstract idea works like a charm.

Relentless 06-02-2010 07:44 AM

Combine the two....
Have a globe with the telephone receiver over it like it is a telephone waiting to be answered.
That sends the visual message that you cover the entire world with phone billing.
It also will probably look pretty good as line art for things like business cards etc... :2 cents:

emjay 06-02-2010 07:45 AM

Thanks for inputs everyone.

Personally, I prefer A to B, but the company in question wants to rebrand with B.

Concur with Damian that the PB Bunny is probably adult's finest.

Quite like the GFY "shocked 1950's woman" one though lol

michael.kickass 06-02-2010 10:00 AM

2nd one is better :2 cents:
