ICM List Of .XXX Supporters--Are These 240 .XXX "Supporters" Really Part of Us?
Please see: http://forum.icann.org/lists/icm-opt.../msg12555.html .
From the list at the bottom of the above link, please provide your input to the Free Speech Coalition--basicly, which of the ICM-supplied names of the 240 "supporters" of .xxx do you recognize as being actual members of the Adult Internet Community, and which ones do you recognize as not being a part of us. Your opinion and input is needed by FSC as they "prep" for the upcoming ICANN meeting where the .xxx decision is on the agenda. Feel free to add appropriate comments that might help FSC surface the validity of the ICM-named individual "supporters" of .xxx. Please either post your input here (and)/or send an email directly to [email protected]. Please expedite. Thanks for helping the Adult Internet Community. |
There are many board regulars, and recognized industry names, who have gone on the record here @ GFY, as well as in XBIZ (trade mag), supporting .XXX.
:disgust |
It is my understanding that in order to get a .xxx domain you had to sign something saying you supported the concept. I figured they got their supporters that way.

:winkwink: The religious nuts have outnumbered by far. |

Bogus names listed for sure. Like Oracle pointed out.
|
How many more times do we need to do this until that fat ass bastard Lawley leaves the filed?
|
all the names look fake to me
non of them are in the industry |
many of those do not look real to me. and how many of them have any sort of vested interest in the porn industry and how many are just right wingers looking to corral porn sites(the main fear of .xxx)
i mean i could walk into any church in america, sell them a bunch of misunderstandings about the measure and get hundreds of additions over night. a obfuscated list is a pretty weak one. opinions of people that have no vested interest or greater understanding of how it all works should be tossed aside! |

I'll take a look here in a bit.... |
I googled a few... one was a guy from some European country I couldnt point to on a map who took photos it seemed of fully clothed women and scenery. Didn't look adult at all, made met art look like german goo girls.
I doubt it was someone with the same name as it was something like jfsdkfljsd skdjflsdj, thats why I picked it out to google. I think its a bullshit list... with bullshit people... for bullshit... |
Ran a quick search. No time for skimming through the last 12 months of XBIZ.
http://www.xbiz.com/polls/poll.php?id=119287 http://www.xbiz.com/articles/80047 My guess is the supporters are domain squatters, and those who have some incentive. Although those quoted over the years, and some known on record for supporting it, are not all unknowns. I wanna say there was even a thread on XBIZ.NET with one of the main dude's there supporting it. You'd have to run a search, I wanna say off the top of my head it was Helmy, but I could be wrong. So don't hold me to it. |

.xxx is a non-starter. Ain't going to happen...
Too much opposition, including a lot by various religious and family values organizations - they too are against .xxx, because they feel that .xxx would legitimize porn; being endorsed by the government. And then there are issues of what happens to adult sites in .com and other gTLDs. Would all adult content be restricted to .xxx ... and if so, how does one define what adult content is and will it be enforced. Many thorny issues. For anyone doubting the challenges involved with .xxx should take a look at what happened to .kids - it was proposed as a gTLD, but was soundly rejected. Some countries, such as the U.S. later implemented .kids as a sub-TLD (ie. .kids.US)... However, even a sub-TLD .xxx is a non-starter too, because it was imply endorsement by the countries who choose to add it under their ccTLD ... I can say with confidence, there will not be a .xxx.US anytime soon, if ever; .US has very strict rules on what they allow, and already filters out "dirty" word domains. Ron |
I'm all for .xxx, if it shuts down redtube and the other big tubes.

Good input--thanks!
|
Sent my info to Diane :thumbsup
Of course I left out the part about lawley sucks! |
I don't know anyone from that list, though it would be a lot better if they would actually disclose the email address. So many bogus names on there, no question.
I agree with BF that its probably domain squatters in support. |
Webmaster
webmaster@xxxxxxxxx Billing billing@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Traffic Master traffic@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Referrals referrals@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Yea, real legit. Is this a joke? |
Diane Duke just phoned me to say how helpful the above comments are---thanks!
|
Dave, google the names on there. Only a couple show up and good luck connecting them to adult, cause I don't see it. They should at least come up under whois info for domain names, 2257 record holders or something.
|
If all they got was 240 supporters, they are sooooooo lame.
|
FYI, the ICANN meeting starts on Monday and ends on Jun 25th.
|
Bump--er cars are fun for folks of all ages.
|
bump :)
|
Another bump.
|
This is the Friday bump before FSC completes prepping and flies to the ICANN meeting to defend us!
|
You can add Tony299 to that list
|
don't forget the emails are hidden that's why they are listed as somebody@xxxxxxxxxxx
But anyway, 240 supporters? haha they ain't going to get anywhere. |

Anybody want some affiliate account IDs. :321GFY And then there is a domainer who seems to specialize in C*P* baiting domains contrary to ICMs/IFFORs proposed policies. :error |
dave you are a good dude.
|
|
Sorry only seen the "240" list an hour ago, but I can confirm some of the names/emails are not fake and do indeed run adult sites. :2 cents:
|
I wonder if all of the people present posting comments of support for .xxx via the [email protected] are REAL stakeholders.
