did they do anything with adding content right in the post editor? last time i toyed with WP i had to ftp images first then add them in the post editor, anything changed in this process?

I usually wait a month before doing my upgrades, so the bugs get worked out and the plugin authors have time to upgrade the plugins in use, so nothing breaks. Thanks for the links!

Has anyone found a way / is it possible to import a wordpress 2 (non-wu) blog into wordpress 3 multisite?

yes, but its very hacky, I will look into this more today and reply back.

I would recommend installing wordpress locally using xampp, so you can test everything out before going live.

Here is step by step how to install locally on your pc/mac

I've been using the one-click install from Bitnami and it's super simple. I thought I picked up the link initially from a post of yours here but maybe not.

ya, but upgrading single site to multisite 3.0 requires some extra stuff, like migrating users, etc.
