Question for MAC users

Do macs have Windows Media Player or something equivalent installed usually? Can you see streams in embeded WMP?

Quicktime, or you can get a plug in called 'Flip 4 Mac', or an app called VLC, or whatever.

bump for more

is it supported out of the box, or you need to add vlc? When WMP is embeded in website, does it turn into quicktime on mac or what?

Chris 06-24-2010 02:12 PM

yup flip 4 mac plays wmv's and so does VLC

QuickTime is the movie player software for Macs. (Mac, not MAC)

to play a .wmv with Quicktime you need Flip4Mac or VLC. Neither come by default, and must be installed.

once you go mac you never go back

james_clickmemedia 06-25-2010 05:29 AM

Flip 4 Mac plays your wmv's
QT for avi's etc
VLC players anything & everything.

Also Perian is a free, open source QuickTime component that adds native support for many popular video formats.

Emil 06-25-2010 08:37 AM

Fucking retards, he asks if it supported right from the start without the user having to install VLC or any other shit.

Not supported out of the box. However I don't know anyone who doesn't have at least flip4mac or vlc installed.
