It's basically instinct after all the g/f's over the years nagging me to death about it

Being a girl I don't ever lift up the seat myself but since childhood I've made a good habit of always checking before sitting down. I think my skin has touched the porcelin maybe twice and both times I popped up and off as soon as skin touched. Never straight sat all the way down on the rim or ever fell in.

Since getting the cats a few years back. I now remember to keep it down. All the way.

Nope I never do put it down. If she wants it down, she can do it herself. What makes her special that I have to bend to the will of her? Think about it, It's discrimination that us guys have to put it down, why can't she put it down?

My policy is that there are other girls who would kill to be in her position so if she doesn't like it, too bad, I will show her to the door :)

How do you 'forget' to put the seat down? As you approach the throne you're looking right at it, so forgetting shouldn't even enter into it. You either see it's up and put the damned thing down or your head is somewhere in the clouds and you're not even aware of what you're doing, in which case it's a wonder you even found your way to the bathroom without getting lost.

I agree with those saying women should quit their bitching about it. In fact if their guy is a stander then they could be courteous themselves and put the seat BACK UP when they're done.

I've seen couples argue over this, even had a few girlfriends in the past try nagging me about this. It completely baffles me why so many people want to spend their time fighting and bitching and crying over this trivial bullshit.
