Should Apple not learn grammar for their products?
All of the Apple products, iTunes, iPhone, iPad & iPod are all spealt with the little "i". This should be pronounced similar to the "I" in "sim". An "I" pronounced "eye" is always a capital.
Wikipedia show the "iPhone" as "IPhone" in their url. Truthfully, Apple have incorrectly named their products :2 cents: |
don't be ignorant! how do you say pliers or science? What's more, it's a proper noun so it can be pronounced any way they like.
|
Sounds like you are in a greater need of a grammer lesson than Apple.
|
coem on, it's iPhone, not IPHONE, fuck grammar!

You'd think that while criticizing the grammar of others, you would at LEAST spell check your own post. |

At the same time, Im not criticizing Apple, just speaking of a fact. With this "i" can make a many mistakes as "i" want & should'nt have a worry :2 cents: I have an iPhone, so I have nothing against Apple..... Do you not agree though. The name should either have been Iphone. |
wtf is spealt?

Ignore Arsey he is a master sig spammer.
You know how the story goes...... arsey makes a stupid post, damianj comes along and ridcules him, then arsey keeps the thread up by embarrassing himself further. damianj (probably in on the act disects all sentences of all posts, dvtimes will come and drag up the same old "is it true you can tel if somebody has aids by looking at them" stuff, others will chip in and take sides and end result is multiple sig views and curiosity clicks and everybody ending up thinking "yep all brits are idiots". |

Where is BING when you need it? What do you think about the pronounciation of "iphone"? :2 cents: |

YOU of all people are suggesting that Apple need English help? Gary, EVERY SINGLE ONE of your posts is FULL of mistakes. FULL. You are so fucking funny! a) When you create a product name, it is a word you are inventing. Therefore you can write it as you see fit b) One word cannot make a grammatical mistake c) URLs are not case sensitive. I can type WWW.ARSEWITHCLASS.CO.UK or www.arsewithclass.co.uk and both resolve. I can also type www.twitter.com/arsewithclass or www.TwITTER.CoM/ArsEwithCLASS and both work And the i stands for internet. PS If anyone gets stuck on a definition of irony, this post is it. |

Thanks for the bump... no need for the spam unless you find a need for attention :winkwink: Pronounciation is important. The products that Apple sell, should have a capital "I" to pronounce it "I". Whats the big deal WEASEL! Its you that make us British look like idiots, spamming like a twat. You jealous little scrote pretending to be Natalie & I. End off WEASEL :2 cents: |
we all get it

Weasel, You really are an idiot :1orglaugh |

So what made Apple do it? Why didnt they say "Iphone"? |
Quote:
When you are creating a brand pretty much anything goes including grammar. Apple created something unique, memorable and easy to use. Finally, correct grammar is almost a thing of the past as people from all levels of life continue to butcher the english language. If I had to point a finger at the instigators it would be those dam rap people that weren't smart enough to learn it the proper way so they created their own words and somehow got them into the mainstream which diluted proper grammar and english. Word :winkwink: |

You jealous little scrote pretending to be I. You jealous little scrote pretending to be me. Therefore it is You jealous little scrote pretending to be Natalie & me. Although as you routinely use myself instead of I, this all could be waaaay over your head. Quote:
Oh I missed you! Thanks for this post, welcome back! |

Want to read something funny! A quote from one of your blogs.... You should recognise it, considering it is from one of your blogs! "Don’t slag off your competition. I recently read some marketing advice aimed at porn companies where they suggest you research your competition (good idea) then in your "adveritisng" they suggest you trash your competition." If your going to write in a blog, not a thread in a forum, you must start to check your spelling! Especially if your into ADVERTISING! :1orglaugh |
that's something to think about, but, honestly, who cares?

Honestly, its better than a "ban this person" or "blablabla is an idiot" thread isnt it. :2 cents: |

I recently read some marketing advice aimed at porn companies where they suggest you research your competition (good idea) then in your "adveritisng" they suggest you trash your competition." Dont you think its ironic that you are in advertising & wrote this above? Now thats not photoshop, nor is it magic. But its certainly funny :winkwink: |

"I" is pronouced the same fucking way whether it's "i" or "I". I guess by your logic if the I is not capatilized it's sounds like another letter? i, I, eye.. All the damn same. Maybe they should have named it eyePhone. lol |

I am still a little confused considering the words that were to promote the iMac, were all written with capitals :( "Apple has been using a lowercase "i" to begin many of its product names ever since Steve Jobs introduced the first iMac computer on May 7, 1998. His explanation for the "i" at the time was as follows: iMac comes from the marriage of the excitement of the Internet with the simplicity of Macintosh. Even though this is a full-blooded Macintosh, we are targeting this for the #1 use that consumers tell us they want a computer for, which is to get on the Internet -- simply, and fast. And that is what this product is targeted for. "i" also means some other things to us. We are a personal computer company, and although this product is born to network, it also is a beautiful stand-alone product. We are targeting it also for education. They want to buy these. And it is perfect for most of the things they do in instruction. It is perfect for finding tremendous sources of information over the Internet. And we hope as you see the product it will inspire us all to make even better products in the future. Internet. Individual. Instruct. Inform. Inspire. Steve Jobs may have originally used those words to describe the iMac, but they sure do apply quite nicely to the iPhone, don't they?" They do apply, but all with capitals??? :2 cents: |
lowercase i just looks more visually appealing. pretty simple.

Come on, truthfully, it should be Iphone. There is no changing facts of how we are taught to pronouce letters from our childhood. |

I do not see a problem with the lowercase "p" though? Iphone looks visually correct too. Maybe its like the word "bad". We teach our children "your a bad boy" similar to "naughty". Then hear the youth say "thats so bad". Meaning cool or good. :2 cents: |
Quote:
iPhone, iPad etc... etc.. is all a marketing thing. Has nothing to do with what we were taught as children or any other shit. |

no you are just retarded for thinking.

South British? Doesn't sound right to me. :2 cents:

South Britain is a little known penal colony where they send the criminally ugly.
It doesn't appear on maps for security reasons. |
It's called branding you iDiot.
