d'uh ... d-link in germany
wow, just WOW! NEVER EVER buy a d-link router!!! serious ... their fucking site doesnt even show an email for support and from my experience with them - SCREW IT! NEVER call their hotline - its only keeping ya in the line, dropping ya after about 10 minutes due to "no line free right now" (all they do is "hint you" to call their premium support) - but they charge for the waiting time of coz ... and if you call their "premium hotline" you pay $3 per minute for NO HELP AT ALL! fuck those idiots! i just jumped on my router and crashed it to bits!!! before trying to claim warranty you are better off with another router from ANYONE BUT D-LINK! i shud have known it ... MADE IN CHINA :disgust
PS: 8 months old it went to cyberheaven... |
Probably 80% of the shit in your house is made from China... why get so worked up about it? :)

A lot of things are made in China.
China has the largest labour force. |

dlink replaced my firewall for free after 3 years and sent me a new one even before i sent in the old one. but it was a product of their professional line - the cheaper stuff is not really worth the hassle. and i have like 20 router, firewall, access points and switches from them - so far not much complaints, only 2 broken power adapter and that firewall in 7 years.

I recently had my house wired with cat 6 and had a d-link 8 port switch I got on sale from dell for $20. Of course, the piece of white plastic shit didn't work right out of the box.
So I went to staples and got a d-link 16 port rack mount with internal fan and metal case and it works great. Of course it cost about $160 more. I think a lot of times you can just look at a product and tell it is going to suck. That little 8 port "green" switch just looked like junk right from the get go. That's what I get for trying to be cheap and buying a product that's main selling point is that it will save you money on your hydro bill. |
Have one of their 'gaming routers' from about 4 years ago. It still works fine.
However, I did have a bad experience with one of their smaller switches going bad after about a month. The switch was only about $3 (seriously) after rebate on newegg, so obviously it was a huge loss. Just kind of sucked having the network running piss poor for a week or 3 until the problem was pinned down and got a replacement. |
I miss my old DI-707P. It was bulletproof. Ran for 6 years until it got stuffed into a closet and forgotten about. The only real gripe I had was every minor change required another reboot. Every damn setting was a save/reboot combo.
That said, I don't think I'll own anything else D-Link, either. Their customer support is nonexistent, and it's not really great quality for even a home office. |
Never had a problems with D-Link routers :)
