I was looking around on the site and all of the newer stuff seems to be 5 minute and sponsored videos with links through to a paysite? (Something I thought all tubes should have been doing since the beginning)

Has pornhub gone legit?

I still see that the other tubes are pretty shifty though.

I'm surprised they're not doing more with all the traffic they get.

they have 11 vids on the front page over 15 minutes. That is about what they have had for a while.

I see 5 videos with 40 minutes duration so i guess not.

Most tubes started trending legit almost two years ago. Some tube owners know how to do it right, some still don't quite have the formula down right. It's all in the mix of videos. For the owners that have it right, conversions are better than 1:1000

Surfers just want good videos, they don't care much about length anymore. At first, they hated the short clips, but not anymore if the clip is good. Some tube owners don't realize that yet.

What a sign of the times. Only in an industry which has been completely flushed down the toilet, could we even ask whether a site which still has 1000's of unlicensed/stolen videos on it, "has gone legit?"

no what has happened is that they need a constant influx of new videos to keep the bookmarkers happy and theres only so much shit out there to be uploaded to any given site. no new content = good bye loyal pornhub viewers to the next hot tube of the day. look at all the tubes, you'll find the same videos. so now what they're trying to do is legitimize and get programs to do the work and upload their own videos to their tube. they get two things, new vids and they don't have to upload anything. and they take no risk of their own people finding adult studios stuff and uploading it just to get it taken back down by DMCA. there will always be dumb studio owners who don't know any better who think if you give away your stuff someone will buy.

I don't know why it would surprise anybody. They never cared that dating and cams would dry up, either ... that was just to supplement their income until they had more traffic than God in order to go legit.

I am no expert and didn't see the adverts, but not sure how a drawing could be illegal?
You can buy maintream movies in all countries including rape, incest, murder and other scenes which are otherwise crimes.

Tons of Simpsons incest toons, Disney bestiality, hentai rape and other inappropriate stuff have floated the web for ages without consequences, so my guess would be it isn't illegal.

Why didn't they get shut down if it is an 'illegal' tube? You'd have to prove they stole and uploaded the movies themselves for it to be illegal. No one has been able to do that yet.

I was thinking about setting up a cartoon TGP but I see this a huge gray zone then. Anime/hentai sites pictures lot of sex with young schoolgirls and what about all the sites containing content from series like Simpsons, many Disney movies etc?

By "legit" - I mean I am seeing a lot more 5-8 minute videos linked through to a sponsor (which is something they could have done all along and made decent $$$).

People have been convicted for simply possessing obscene Simpson cartoons. As 488 refered to it's illegal in several countries no matter what, including U.K., Canada, Australia, Sweden. More countries will follow soon.

I could care less if some kids at school think it's funny to draw Bart Simpson with a huge fucking cock. But the moment you put it on an adult site, like pornhub, it's another context. It's the fastest way to get your site blocked on search engines and ISP filters. It's not good for this industry, it gives anti-porn politicians another excuse to target the industry. If they take down a video after getting a DMCA they are legal according to the law and upheld in court.


When the industry realises Tubes are here to stay and the only way to get customers back is to win them back, the industry might survive. If not it will go down. :(
