The claim was made in a House of Commons debate on improving transparency in government accounting.

Mourdaunt did not name the hospital but said that it was a well known big London hospital. Speaking in parliament she said:

"I discovered that one of our local hospitals was hiring out a closed, but fully-equipped ward, to a film company to use as a film set.

"To add insult to injury, the movie was pornographic."

With more budget cuts on the way it is thought that National Health Service hospitals will have to think up more and more innovative ways to raise cash if services are not to suffer.

Pornography it seems is one way forward for the beleaguered NHS.
