Is AFF and Friendfinder nuts???

I just checked some of my affiliate links with them and found some of them contain a lot of traffic leaks including Google Adsense links. That's insane! You guys from Friendfinder are crazy! I can see you making money, but why would an affiliate send you any traffic if they don't get paid for the revenue they create for you?

lol, I hate shit like that, a lot of sponsors are doing it too, like the GF tours that have a submit link at the bottom..

In fact I was checking out the Freaks of cock tour earlier and there was an exit popup that redirected to AFF..

LeRoy 07-07-2010 05:03 PM

WTF is that shit??

Friendfinder does it for affiliate links. Just found another site with huge adsense blocks:

http://koreanfriendfinder.com/go/f3423

MetaMan 07-07-2010 05:11 PM

Maybe because they dont give a fuck about you?

Yanks_Todd 07-07-2010 09:20 PM

yeah their crazy did you see their IPO proposal? their income to debt ratio

lagcam 07-07-2010 09:23 PM

They are not nuts, they just don't give a fuck, and as long as people blindly send them traffic they never will.

DBS.US 07-07-2010 09:28 PM

Only there affiliates are nuts:2 cents:

Chosen 07-07-2010 10:11 PM

It sucks...

papagmp 07-07-2010 10:18 PM

And when did AFF ever care about affiliates?

FetishWeb 07-07-2010 10:27 PM

oh bro, say it isn't so.

pradaboy 07-07-2010 10:59 PM

Like they give a shit.

opflix 07-07-2010 11:07 PM

got a few links to 'finder' sites and the korean joint had the adsense banner while the others didn't. could be a link setting thing but there's no excuse for any kind of ad like that on an affiliate landing page :2 cents:

why would an affiliate send them traffic period... after all of the shit they have done over the years. I think it is funny every time someone who finally gets fed up with them makes a post about it for the first time, like this is the first thing they have done to piss people off.

Actually, they don't need to do this shit, because they have a strong product. I dated chicks from AFF a couple of times and it was fun so I know they offer value for money to customers. It's a pitty if I have to let them go, but I will if they mess around with my traffic.

cambaby 07-08-2010 01:59 AM

Right now everyone is trying to do everything they can to make money, its fucking harsh right now.

They must be very desperate ...

Meloman 07-08-2010 01:16 PM

Just to clarify

AFF and our adult products don't have adsense.

Regular FF and all PG sites do have adsene.

Don't shoot the messenger :winkwink:

Greed makes people do a lot of things they don't need to do. This isn't the first case of shit from them, either it is the first you are hearing about or the first that got you pissed off, but it isn't the first time something like this has happened or worst.

so they only leaking traffic on mainstream affiliate's traffic. nice. :Oh crap

If adsense would let them put it on adult sites I bet it would be there too. It's not like they chose not to put it there, they couldnt.

There should not be any adsense blocks on regular FF sites for affiliate traffic. Putting adsense up there means, you don't intent to pay affiliates for their traffic. Now, why would I keep sending you traffic? After all FF and AFF are the same company. They mess with one product, they will follow up with the next in some way .... think about it. My trust in FF/AFF has diminished a lot ... it's up to you to remove the leaks.

craftyc 07-08-2010 04:10 PM

report them to adsense. Pretty sure the site doesn't adhere to adsense T&A's anyway.

One traffic broker was totally confused when i rejected to sell ads to aff like they totally legit and never did anything,he was even saying hey they owned by playboy, they must be legit! .And the funny thing they even not owned by playboy, they are owned by penthouse.

There is many dating sites which uses adsense so i dont see problem with that.

craftyc 07-08-2010 04:32 PM

Yeah but if you trigger a manual review they are bound to be doing something wrong. The adsense T&A's are hard to live by. I know ;) I walk a fine line with adsense myself. They haven't got any adult / banned keywords on the page so the bot doesn't mind it. The human reviewers are different.

faxxaff 07-17-2010 08:59 AM

I am kinda puzzled after receiving an official memo from AFF. They apologized and said this adsense stuff was an error and it would be removed immediately from all their dating sites. I waited a few days to see if anything was wrong, but the adsense blocks and traffic leaks still show up. I contacted AFF again a few days ago, but no comment after 3 days ....

There is no choice, I am going to take down all Friendfinder links on Monday or Tuesday if this issue does not get resolved.

Robbie 07-17-2010 09:03 AM

Yeah, I had to change all my Streamray links from my whitelabel back to my generic code.

For some reason they stick ads to other programs on my freaking co-brand! But on the generic code it's just a banner to AFF with my code in it.

I don't understand why they would do that to the co-brand. Hell, they probably did it for years lol I never surf my streamray co-brand.

FreeHugeMovies 07-17-2010 12:42 PM

It's stealing

ThunderBalls 07-17-2010 08:44 PM

AFF deceives its customers by billing after they cancel and fake profiles, but they're going to be honest with their affiliates? :1orglaugh

Nor do I.......... the company pays you X and you agree to that. You cannot decide how or how not they choose to monetise your traffic. If you dont like their business model, dont promote them.

I actually dont see ANYTHING wrong with it and its definitely not stealing.

I have to agree with that. The problem is also that very few affiliates actually read a program's TOS etc. before clicking on the "I have read and agree to..." box and signing up for the proggie. No, they just see the $300 PER FREE JOIN! and believe it.

The process is called "due diligence" and if more affiliates did it, there would be fewer "surprises"

If any program has a strong product, they would be insane to send traffic to third parties and competitors to pick up peanuts from Adsense. For me as an affiliate it means, I need to send them at least 2 or 3 times as much traffic to make the same amount of money from signups, but they make more anyhow. So, of course I am going to cut the links.

The other issue I have: They apologized and said in an official AFF reply that this was a mistake and the ad blocks would disappear. They lied to me about this. It's very sad, but leaves me with no other choice than to cut traffic to them until they make up for it.

I regret this step as I am very loyal to my partners and sponsors. I only quit working with them if they really mess up. I am afraid to say, AFF has really messed up big time, now. I wish I could say otherwise.

BTW, it's not about the legal fine print. It's about being trust worthy. When you say A and mean B to mislead .... it's not the best thing to do.
