A Humble Business Question

Based on the current state of the industry, and threads we have seen lately, do you think that most understand setting up pages or products with a solid "call to action" or follow the "A-B-C"?

I think people are pinching pennies everywhere they can, and attempting to do things they don't know how to do. Results will be widely varied. But for the most part, probably A-B-C.

Any chance of writing that again in English? (Footsies not Amp)

spazlabz 07-14-2010 10:15 AM

A-B-C in my humble opinion

BestXXXPorn 07-14-2010 10:16 AM

I think most people probably have a basic understanding but what this industry is REALLY lacking is A/B testing... I can count on one hand the amount of sponsors that do regular A/B testing...

In my opinion this is a HUGE discredit to affiliates as pages are NOT optimized for conversions as well as they could be... Most affiliates are wasting traffic by not capitalizing on different approaches commonly used in main stream...

I could go on for hours on this topic alone, hahaha.

Never done any formal sales courses so acronyms fly way over my head even if it is something I understand the concept of :(

Direct marketing, sending a person from point A to point B and trying to sell them something, they aren't already looking to buy is close to dead as it will get. This is happening online and offline, however the social interaction ability has created a new way to connect with potential buyers.

The idea of a Global Market truly is here and globally nobody wants you to blast them with direct marketing, which is almost like spamming people now, it just turns them off but you always land a few sales.

People that want something, go get it - the rest of the people forgot what they wanted.

On the global level you can now interact with your market, grow a global brand and hardly spend a dime, and truly reach hundreds of millions of people, from your phone - let alone a pc and a staff of people - and do it an endless amount of times, 24/7....

This isn't just social marketing, it's global release cycles based around 'you' that can repeat 100's and even 1000's of times, from regions, languages, technology abilities, products, sites, and much more. It's why the "Internet" as we know it appears dead to us and many other markets - we aren't part of the 'real' Internet, the chatter that is people.

It's about a mixture of covering technologies, being part of each technology in some way so you appear to be part of them. People will open up and tell you exactly what they want, including porn... they will literally explain to you in detail what they desire, you just need to be part of the mass group to be able to ask so you can listen, and then respond accordingly.

When you do this you can build social interaction, it creates instant proof without you trying, it creates a market for you around you, it allows for instant data collection because the trust is so high and across so many technologies, and it removes failure points because the reach is so big.

In the end you're left with an army of people continually ready to buy from you because they trust you, not because you're trying to sell them something that matches a marketing standard that is 20+ years old.

That movie, although not completely horrible, owes a heck of a lot to Wall Street and Glengarry Glen Ross.
