My designer got 1 after I told him about the problems with connection. No problems with his phone at all.... :2 cents:

That gives some validity to the issues being with just the 1st batch of phones.

try this

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=968838

Quote:

1.) Reinstall iTunes using these guides:

Windows XP: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925

Mac OSX: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1224

2.) Update to 4.0.1 by using THESE .ipsw packages:

http://www.quickpwn.com/2010/07/ios-...iphone-3g.html

3.) Restart your computer.

4.) Once downloaded, click the restore/update button while holding ctrl (Windows) or option (OSX) and then select the downloaded .ipsw package.

5.) Wait for phone to update.

This has worked for many people (myself included), who had their iPhones bricked from using their current installation of iTunes and the .ipsw downloaded automatically through iTunes.

the os4 they said dont put oon anything lower than 3gs models cause it slows it down n shit...

It slower down my 3G so I backed it up, reinstalled software then restored from backup and all ok.

X37375787 07-15-2010 07:24 PM

Thanks Juicy. I am currently installing 3.1.3 again, fuck OS4 and fuck Apple for doing this shit. I am positive that it's a ploy to get me to upgrade.

Sharky 07-15-2010 07:31 PM

The update worked fine for me on the first try;-)

NetHorse 07-15-2010 07:53 PM

It's all bullshit. The software "fix" wouldn't change the fact that there is an actual design flaw.

Dropping calls
https://youtube.com/watch?v=_GqUG-_Daek

and there was another one with the internet speed test. Apple thinks they're clever releasing an update that makes your phone show more bars, as if that's going to cure the problem. :disgust

I got the bumper for mine and noticed a HUGE difference. It's pretty sad I had to buy a fucking accessory for my brand new Iphone to work correctly.
