If you are working with critical data you might want to look into RAID6, it can survive two drive failures

oh and make sure you get the RE3/4 enterprise series of WD instead of the cheaper desktop versions

every drive will fail eventually, I use BD and smaller drives for BU. don't want to much on 1 drive... might start backing some stuff to my domains as well

I have everything backed up on 2+ drives on site and 2 off site. I don't fuck around with that.:thumbsup

Could be a coincidence but maybe not. Check the power supply and the temperature in the case.
