EngineAir - The Di Pietro Air Car
Di Pietro claims his compressed air motor is 94.5% efficient. If true, it could mean a revolution in industrial and automobile industries.

Yeah I read about a car like this being developed in India a couple years ago. They were planning on moving manufacturing to the US, building over 400 plants and making them dirt cheap
buwhahahaha... the peasants did not count on being crushed by the American Corporate monsters |

Di Pietro, on the other hand, claims to have the most efficient compressed air motor in the world. Still, compressed air cars are pointless unless the compressed air is generated by renewable and clean energy. |
I wonder how much that car would sell for in the US? it would probably get gang raped by congress I read a story about a North Carolina man who converted his diesel car to biodiesel and the state fined him $1000 as kind of a not paying for gas gas tax.

I just got a sweet idea about how to cheaply power a compressed air car.
1. Buy one or more huge, strong air tanks and put them in your backyard or basement or another place. 2. Buy a big solar array and put it on your roof or backyard or another place. To save money and be more efficient, dont convert DC to AC (which results in about 15-25% loss) and dont buy batteries and dont connect to the grid. 3. Connect the solar panel array directly to the strongest DC powered air compressor which you can buy. 4. Connect the DC air compressor directly to one of the big backyard air tanks. 5. During the night, when there is no power from the solar array and the air compressor is off, refill the air car with air from one of the backyard air tanks. Who wants to crunch some numbers on that to figure out how much that would cost? |
