If an investor doesn't research what he is investing in, then I can't feel sorry for him when he gets screwed.

Just because Glenn Beck told me to buy something does not mean I'm going to run out and buy it. A smart man would research it first, then make a buying decision.

It's like porn. You're going to get fucked and not paid, but you still leave your links and promote the company who's fucking you anyway. People are just dumb like that.

This has nothing to do with Beck's political views, but he has a fan base that truly believes in him and he tells them to buy gold in a way that is probably the least efficient way to get into the gold market and he obviously knows it.

If anything, it shows he could care less about his viewers/fans. If you watch or listen to his show, he plays it up like he is he is looking out for them and working hard to help them. Often nearly breaking down into tears.

If you enjoy watching Glen Beck, that's totally fine. I just think some people don't realize he is an entertainer and a showman, not a political expert or a historian or anything else.

Even if you are a conservative, you have to admit that divisive and manipulative figures like him do damage to the public discourse. The same way people on the left who run around trying to capture Republicans on video saying something stupid end up doing more harm than good.

As "Americans" we need to realize these people on the left and right like Glen Beck are making millions by turning us all against each other. The banks, the oil companies, and the super rich are running away with all the money while Americans are blaming their middle class neighbors for all of the country's problems because they are a "liberal" or a "conservative".

If you buy into this whole liberal vs. conservative crap, it means you have been played buy a huge money making operation that only benefits the super rich. Because they can continue twisting the rules and stealing all the money while the uneducated masses fight each other over the latest youtube video of Glen Beck or Keith Olberman.

Problem is, smart people don't listen to Glenn Beck. He knows his audience. The same people that think voting for the Patriot Act stood for being a 'Patriot', who defend the first amendment as long as someone's not talking bad about the country, who constantly talk about their personal freedoms disappearing while they cheered the disappearance of their right to Habeas Corpus and couldn't wait to give up their freedom not to be unreasonably searched and spied upon.

In other words, Goldline's absolute most targeted audience.

What is the point here? When you are making a decision regarding media buys, you are obviously going for the most targeted demographic that you can, in order to get the best ROI.

Glenn Becks audience has an affinity to the concept that hyper-inflation and worthless paper currencies are a potential liability in the future. That's not insane, there are many well respected economists who also feel this way. If I am the marketing director for Goldline, I want to buy time on the show in order to get "targeted traffic" for my advertising budget.

That's like saying that when you watch "Top Gear" on BBC and they talk great things about high-end cars, and then a Jaguar ad comes on, that it's all part of some big conspiracy.

Get it together people.... this is really tin-foil hat wearing kind of thinking here.

Glenn Beck was doing his show, saying the same kind of things, for quite some time before GoldLine became a sponsor. I'm sure they heard it, and thought, "This audience would be a good fit for us!" Simple as that.

Glenn Beck is a caricature of a conservative and just an entertainer. While I agree with some of what he says I know it's a crafted act. I honestly doubt he believes much of what he says and I want to puke whenever I hear his voice.

Rush, love him or hate, is sincere with most of his schtik. Beck is a poor man's Rush targeted to imbeciles and radicals. If you look into his background you know he is a con.

What Beck does is SCARE people into buying Gold. Beyond any investment, he tries in a variety of ways to convince people that gold is worth more than cash, and that people need to repalce their cash for his "gold" before the end comes. He doesn't just do this in a commercial or advertisement, he does this on his "News" shows.

Editorial, performance art or whatever you want to call his shows, people still consider his bullshit to be "News" and therefore 100% credible just because its on Fox News. He scares the shit out of Teabaggers, GOP's and racists who "don't trust the black man in the white house".

Beck is a fucking weasel from head to toe and deserves to be sued for what he has done or thrown in jail.
