I'm A Gonna Play Me Some Red Dead Redemption

I've got some beer, I have some smoked salmon which has just been introduced to some French Onion crackers, cream cheese, green onions and a tiny sprig of Mexican parsley, and I'm a gonna log into PSN and disturb some shit.

Realgfs 07-30-2010 12:30 AM

Sounds sweet.. I'm gonna do the same thing, just Alan Wake on Xbox.. It's raining outside, what else to do, than fire up the bigass TV and souround sound :)

Have a good time bud!

Bloggers are ruining the internet. What are "bloggers"? They're fat--usually gothic--losers who keep web logs instead of hanging out with friends because they wet the bed and don't have any. A web log is a type of online diary where people who aren't important can pretend to be by writing to an imaginary audience. Girls are notorious for keeping these. On a typical site, you'll find a 17 year old girl with hundreds of webcam pictures of herself pasted everywhere, an Amazon wish list so they can exploit wankers that visit their site, and about 2 gigs worth of text documenting every time they took a shit, had an epiphany about taking a shit or ate something (all written in extremely stylish, yet IMPOSSIBLE TO READ micro-font).

Here is an actual quote from a web log I happened across in my referral logs today: "I took the best nap today.. so so great. And I ate a sandwich, but it wasnt that great, and it kinda made me sick... but it's better than nothing."

So the question is: does anybody in the universe care about Ms. X who had "the best nap today" or that she ate a mediocre sandwich? I don't, which is why I promptly uninstalled my browser and punched some guy sitting next to me. The page goes on and on about how she's bored, tired, depressed, lonely, hungry, frustrated, etc, etc, etc. I can't remember the last time I wanted somebody's fingers to break so badly.

Red Dead Redemption is the best 60 bucks I ever spent on a game. I think it is a mistake for you to have such an elaborate snack while playing it though, you need your hands free.

seeandsee 07-30-2010 05:15 AM

i will play that in 2-3 years maybe, i don't need games :)

At least with twitter they are limited to 140 characters of drivel... yours is >1000

:thumbsup Was playing the co-op missions and woofed down a cracker between loadouts. I think the beer caused more posse member's deaths than the salmon.

I don't twitter, dude :winkwink: I can see your point though - pretty obvious by my signup date and post count that I do nothing but sit here and spam GFY with pointless nonsense everyday.

You've got 90 posts in five years. I think I'm justified in telling to fuck off and shut up :321GFY in any order that fits your schedule :warning :2 cents: :)

Leshansom 08-02-2010 03:16 PM

Shame you weren't limited too dude! LOL! :)

I haven't played either of those, unfortunately. Due to time constraints, I tend to buy a game and play it over the course of a few months.

Over the last year I've had time for Arkham Asylum, MLB 09 : The Show, and Red Dead. I do have a shitload of PSN downloadable games for a quick fix (Joe Danger FTW!), but I really don't have time for long, story based games. :(

Red Dead is great, although it takes some commitment and its pacing can be a bit slow.

Love Red Dead Redemption. The single player campaign was even kick ass. I just wish they had more shit you could buy during the game. GTA you could buy all kinds of stuff.

I agree with you there. I did get a bit tired of continually skinning animals to raise cash and finding out there wasn't much to purchase.

But that's why God invented XBox Live and PSN - DLC!

Great single player story. I'm loving RDR multiplayer, although it sometimes takes a bit of work to find a posse that's not filled with idiots.

CaptainHowdy 08-02-2010 04:16 PM

Congrats I guess...

Marialovesporn 08-02-2010 04:22 PM

The multiplayer mode is awesome and when going to a gang hideout with some friends the game really rocks..

bronco67 08-02-2010 04:31 PM

I got tired of riding a horse for 20 miles while listening to some asshole jabber "character development" in my ear, then shoot some guy and go back another 20 miles to get 5 bucks from the sheriff so I can buy a new animal pelt.

I traded it in and got God of War 3 instead. Best game ever.

Rochard 08-02-2010 04:45 PM

I rented it this weekend just to see what it was about. It's interesting.... But I just don't like the Xbox at all. If it comes out on PC I'd buy it. Otherwise pass.

Yeah, that's not how it works. Maybe during a first impression, but, being older, I did enjoy the story and scenarios. There are moments of complete mayhem followed by breathtaking vistas and the freedom o explore the world.

I love the pacing that allows me to catch my breath before I have to wipe out fifty mexican soldiers.

Single player - maybe even multiplayer - is not pick up and play. But I've sat on my horse on a mountain ridge and watched the sun rise.

Rockstar earned my $50 with this puppy.

Having said that, God of War 3 is next on my list.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.

I'm actually totally into the the type of experience you're talking about...the slow builder, with an open world and the freedom to do much more than a linear game. I just didn't think it was executed in a way that made me want to keep playing. My perfect sandbox game would be Fallout 3.

Red Dead was technically glitchy also. God of War 3 was so good, technically and story-wise, that I also played through parts 1 and 2, which has been remastered in HD for the PS3. They were pretty damn good too.

Marialovesporn 08-03-2010 03:11 PM

God of War 3 is on my list now ;-)
