What makes a good affiliate rep? What does one have to do to have your trust?

Alright, please let me in on the secret? What makes a good affiliate rep? What does one have to do to get you to sign up and try their program? I mean I know now a days it's getting harder to find good affiliates. Is it because of all the so call bro programs that offered $50.00 to $100.00 PPS who BTW 95% are gone now! I was thinking with so many programs closing and leaving and not paying why would anyone sign up with a program that hasn't been around long and isn't rev-share?

What I am trying to say, take a look at the program I work for http://www.tushycash.com we have been around almost 9 freaking years We do have a lot of affiliates but recently it's hard to find more! You would think people would be lined up trying to get into a program with a great track record for paying on time etc.! So again let me in on the secret? LOL :helpme:pimp

i need to know that the affiliate rep is really working for me. and not only if he have time and energy. i dont need affiliate reps to contact me when they want. i have contacted already enough people about my sites and requests to be informed about their promos and updates and so, and all i heard is "yes man, sure shot, i will let you know when something new will come out", but then, new sites, new updates, new promos for surfers, and nobody cared to get in touch. then, again, after some time, "hey friend i see you do not send much traffic, can i help you with anything?". i no more work with any reps, i no more answer any reps, since it is mostly only wasting of time and blind trusting. thats my :2 cents: :)

Wow, thanks and whats shitty is I know your pain from trying to talk to other rep's it was a pain in the ass as well! So what would make you happy is a Aff rep that is to keep in touch with you not just a quick email but really stay in touch with you and get what you need and ask for!

Hit up the people that are hated and trashed by fakers and trolls. Those are probably the peeps that can send you sales and arent full of shit.

In my experience affiliates tend to appreciate honesty and getting right to the point for the most part. Unfortunately this bothers the occasional webmaster because they are used to ass kissing and having smoke blown up their ass and we don't do that around here.

I'm not a fan of cold calling webmasters, I think it would be annoying myself to get so why would i do that to others right? But if i just happened to be speaking to a few webmasters about one topic or one niche they were asking about a few weeks prior I will go back and let them know if we have something that is working and they should try it out. Or if they were having sales troubles a while back I'll follow up and see if any of my suggestions were working for them.. makes for good research too.

What I'm able to do is point people in the right direction, give them the info on the sites that are converting well, caution them about sites that aren't doing as well with certain types of traffic, give them fresh ideas when they are struggling, help them with the development of their own ideas, give them access to members areas for reviews and of course help them with their accounts in general.

What I can't do is tell a 50 sale a day webmaster how to sell better, someone like that is obviously more qualified than I am, but if they need a fresh set of eyes to take a look? I'm always there for that. I can't do it ALL for you. We have SO many tools these days that setting up links, galleries and getting content has never been easier to access, but what I can't do is write out all your text links for you or write your reviews for you. I can read over what you have and make suggestions and can even get you in touch with a writer if need be.

All in all i'm out here to help everyone who is willing to work with us the best I can in a reasonable amount of time and efficiency. That is what has worked for me over the years anyway. Hopefully it is enough ;)

An affiliate rep or program that realises the internet doesn't shut down on weekends is a plus. Rare as hens teeth.

lol .. I was just messing

I dought you are doing anything wrong. I think there are way less affiliates around compared to when I first joined GFY. Even when I refer affliliates out of maybe 70 webmasters 1-2 of them will actually make money for themselves and me.

You are aproachable, know the program, can get things sorted and responds quick to enquires, can take a joke, keep your cool when affliates are shouting and swearing at you, and are honest ..I think that makes a good aff rep :)

A site with something that's a cut above the rest.

Continuing presence on many boards.

Fast response to queries.

Getting them is hard unless you've a reputation of keeping them.

Having 24/7 response from reps costs a lot of money and in todays climate there's not always enough money.

Hey thanks folks keep it coming, I am always around and if not on pc I can always give my phone number out! I love helping out and not bullshitting about this either! If there is anything I can do I will do it and will go above what is expected! But talk is cheap and I know this!
