I thought the same thing too. My AMEX platinum got held up at the point of purchase which is extremely rare but got rectified with one call. Something is definitely up with processing because all my CCBill shit went to shit in the last three days.

Can't complain. Some sponsors are disappointing me, other traffic sources are performing better. This is why I bust my ass, build new shit, and diversify.

Agreed it has to be processor. Someone flipped the switch somewhere first of Aug. I always fear the first of the month.

How does the surfer go from buying heavily a week b4 the first then not sell zip a week after the first?

Anyhow I dont know. It is getting to be a losing battle.

Really should just shut all my traffic purchases down this month cause I am losing my ass lately. Today showed some life so maybe the powers that be will take their finger off the button soon.

Cause if it conts at this rate with even the best sites not selling on the best traffic, then I guess that will be it.


Edit: They prob had their finger off the 20th to 31st... maybe they'll take it off again by the 10th of Aug...

and give us all the fucken way till the end of the month to make some fucken money.

When I look at stats I see bad periods with my best sponsors that have gone a couple days longer than this one.

So it happens. Eb and flow I guess. :) Sure sucks tho. Just as it was getting going in July... screeeech the brakes are slammed on.

Why is there always the eb? Drives ya bananas. So when things are going good remember the upcoming eb. Better the flow, the stronger the upcoming eb.

That is written in "porn traffic 101" stone. Why? Doesnt matter. Just that it always happens.

Maybe it's tied to the full moon and guys doing wacky shit like wacking and buying. Could be, someone should study that. Hell even I bought a membership during that last few days in July. :)

It is not always simple math selling porn like you would think it would be. There are also many other factors effecting the surfer. But the weird thing is they all seem to buy, or not buy, at the same time.

Sat morn for example continues to be the best time of the week for me. Makes sense. But these lulls never really make sense. Perhaps when people hear "August" the vibe changes. The party is over. School is coming.

They allow themselves a little lusty embibement sometime in the summer. That was it. Summer peak.

I owe ya more on that. Frankly I am pulling almost all CCBill links soon except for a few. My requirement. Made me one signup this year.

Anyhow If your stats are 18 times worse than last year then lets face it porn and CCBill is a losing game now days.

Most sponsors worth promoting dont go above 1:5000 and most good ones can do 1 in 3000 and that is on the general cj/tube/skim/ traffic of today that is clicked on a descriptive link.

Without the descriptive link and clicked on a thumb or such could be way higher.

Anyhow you know all that. Just rapping before I go remove more links.

Ya know what was a very good CCBill prog till they fucked it up? Online Booty Call. They went to PepperJam and now give $20 pps. I have recurrings from 17 months back with them when they were with CCBill. CCBill DOES recur honestly and well.

Yes there are good progs but not many in CCBill far as I can see. Shit just doesnt cut the mustard.

And now they're all lowering their price to 19.95 so I get 9.95? And I can get $35 elsewhere? Plus it converts 3 times better with a multi back end?

Truth is you are largely right. Only a very few sites sell now days. I mean anything will "sell" if it gets enough traffic but I am talking overall.

So yeah times are tough in porn OVERALL, no getting around it. But mainly for prog owners, NOT for affils.

Now of course if it is bad for one (owner) it is bad for the other (affil) but one can fly and one cant and porn will always sell.

Lots of competition now days between paysites. That was a mouthful huh. :)

Consolidate is the word of the year for affils.. and.. I'll get to pulling them links some day. :)

There! That wasn't so painful, now was it? LOL BUT here comes the pain:

1. BUYING HABITS/BILLS:
The first 10-15 days of the month ppl have to pay their cc bills, mortage/rent, tuition, just about every fucking bill they have. Sure, some come mid-month or at the end, but most ppl - families or individuals - sort out their life budgets by matching up their bills with their paychecks; so, first of the month - 10 (or so) all the bills get paid. No moolah for whack material.

2. CCBill:
As you know - have you been sending traffic to Fellucia Blow and MILF Mia yet? - it ALL depends on the content. 100-300 videos (or even less) is just fine IF it's unique, the surfer falls in love with the girl and you update. In other words, MY shit still sells. Now, others? Who knows. I'm not an affiliate with 400 sponsers I'm pushing so i don't know...

But I can tell you, even with Fellucia Blow or Mister Peaboy or Sexxy Brandon: it depends on the traffic. TGP/pics do well for some sites, not others; tube traffic does great for some sites, not others; blog traffic does great with some sites, not others....

and so on.

Some of my sites that were bread winners are doing just "ok" while some other sites ive built are kicking some major ass.

Overall July was good and August is kicking ass so far. Im normally around 1:3400 and im 1:2500 so far this month. Thats a BIG difference at the end of the day $$$ wise.

Im stoked! Then again, we (myself and my employees) bust ass around the clock so glad to see it pay off still in this enviroment.

You have employees? Wow. Awesome! I've always wondered tho: are most affiliates "one man operations" or do they have, like you, employees? What would those employees DO, exactly? I'm seriously wondering because I know, as a program owner, what my tasks are - and they are legion - so wondering how many tasks an affiliate must do and, if so, are there so many that you need employees to do them? Interestng. :)

We had a good first week of August. (yes, I know, we are small timers) But it's a good week when only a few declines come in. I think consumers always have a little more room on their credit cards in the beggining of the month for the fun stuff.

Yeah I have come to pretty much the same conclusions. With my paysites I am seeing a massive rise in declines over the past 4-5 months, and since the ccbill scrub is intense .. I would expect its amplified (as it appears to be). The problem is I am promoting mostly ccbill only sites who have no tracking or 3rd party affiliate software running in parallel.

How many of those sales are affiliate sales? What percentage are you giving on your program at present?

80 percent of the affiliates im sure are probably 1 man operations but 10 to 20 percent I would guess are much larger operations with multiple employees.

When you own 70 or 80 sites and your constantly developing new sites and ideas then it would be impossible to do it all yourself. Especially when you have many different types like TGP/MGP/Mobile/Blog/Tube/etc. I also have my own paysite aswell. :)

There are some of us still that dont fuck around and are growing even during these trying times. I do mostly all planning, research, seo, advertisement deals, and all other admin or "owner" type duties while I have other guys that handle say content only, or design/integration, traffic trading, etc.

I think were up around 800k/day of traffic now and its all of highest quality for each respective site type. Could have much more if we wanted to reduce user experience.

So anyway, yes of course we have employees. Just think of yourself expanding your operation to say several times your current size and then also bringing on an entire free site side to build traffic. As long as your making more $$$ at the end of the day then its all good. I dont do this shit for fun. This is business. :pimp

I try not to say if i'm having a good month on boards anymore. as soon as i do, the sales tank!

August is starting out much better than July did, lets hope that keeps up. July was not so good.

I'm getting to the point now, with 23 paysites, a network, etc etc, that I'll have to either expand/grow and hire people or shrink back, because I'm working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week now. LOL

The biggest thing you said that stands out for me is obviously the 800k in traffic. If I had even half that traffic I'd retire by now. LOL So putting energy into traffic generation - INHOUSE traffic generation, not affiliates - is my #1 priority for 2011. Of course, HOW to go about it and not do it all half-assed while I learn the "right" (or a better) way is the challenge.

Heh - I'd ask for advice but I've learned that even the best advice works for the person giving it and not always for the one asking for it. I've always found my own way in things so I'm sure, at the end of the day, I'll have hundreds of free sites for traffic etc. Getting started? A challenge. LOL Especially when you already have 23 plates spinning, as it were.

But that's awesome man! I like to hear about affiliates that have their shit together. :)
