Hard rock legends Van Halen are hard at work on a new album with original vocalist David Lee Roth, according to a statement made late last week by its music publishers. Various reports also suggest the group will hit the road upon the LP's completion sometime next year.

"The band is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011," read an announcement by Warner/Chappel, which announced the Van Halen camp had renewed its longstanding deal. The album with Roth would mark the first time the singer has appeared on a full album of new music with the group since '1984' was released more than a quarter century ago.

I saw them on that last tour they did with David Lee a couple of years ago. And even though Michael Anthony was replaced by Van Halen's son on bass...it was fucking awesome.

I believe they are gonna make some serious money with a new David Lee album and supporting tour. I know I'll buy the record and see the show.

Great news! I hope Eddie can keep the "healthier" lifestyle up. Shame about Michael Anthony though. They might be able to pull of the bass lines with "Wolfie" but not the classic vocal harmonies.

Michael Anthony isn't in? Fuck that then - without the harmonies it's, wel, not Van Halen. Can DLR still sing? He was hurting when he did those 2 songs for the greatest hits thing years back (although I liked one of them...can't remember which....)

Awesome! I love all incarnations of Van Halen but I have never seen them with Roth Live....I saw the Roth and Hagar tour...I all of the guys.

I saw them live in Vegas front row center a few years ago it was a great show!

Can't wait for the new stuff! In fact I'm going to list to some VH right now!
