Not only are you not suppose to Hold your Iphone 4 that way...Now..

I can't even hold it to my ear to talk, so many times when I'm talking to people, they keep saying, "Hello", "Hello", "are you there"...My ear touches the Mute button. The screen is suppose to turn off when it's up to your ear. The 3G was a better phone, I never had a problem with it.

I"m sure Steve Jobs will be like, "Don't hold it to your ear when you talk." :1orglaugh

Oh well, but it does take amazing video. :Oh crap

yea the proximity sensor is a known bug that should be fixed in 4.1 which will probably be out in the next month or two.
i never had a problem with it, but i also use bluetooth a lot. but i have friends that have issues

For the price of what an iPhone costs, you should be able to use it underwater in space.

Sly 08-11-2010 03:49 PM

If Steve Jobs says it isn't a problem, it isn't a problem. Quit your bitchin'.

So true.

Rule number one...Steve jobs has great products.
Rule number two..if his products suck, refer to rule number one.

iPhone is not a Mac. My Macs work beautifully. My iPhone is in a box growing spiders. :winkwink:

I love the phone but I hate that. Happens to me often and my biggest pet peeve is the shitty bluetooth quality

Same here. Overall still a great phone.

A lot of the proximity sensor issues are due to migrating from an earlier version of the iPhone software.

I'm still using the iPhone 3G (on the waiting list to buy the iPhone 4) and I was having all kinds of issues after upgrading to iOS4 until I restored my iPhone back to factory setting and then adding everything back in manually. It was a pain in the ass to do but now my iPhone is working properly.

fatfoo 08-11-2010 09:24 PM

Your ear should not touch the mute button.

Sharky 08-12-2010 01:05 AM

Yeah, this is my only complaint about the iphone4. I'm a convert from blackberry, so all in all I am pretty happy with it

k0nr4d 08-12-2010 01:10 AM

I got an android phone. It's great, much better then iphone.

ottopottomouse 08-12-2010 03:34 AM

Is it definitely the phones fault your ears touch it?
