Middlemen Is Not In ANY Theater In Philly WTF!
 

I checked everywhere its not anywhere or even on comcast same day as theaters, so does anyone have a way to see this movie that got such bad reviews not even the indy theaters would pickit up for a short run? I want to see it anyway and there are no torrents either, which is a shame in itself lol :1orglaugh Jesus no one even bothered to rip it off :(

I want to see I have been sick all month need new material.

damn what a shame :( Even tho it sux i think it will be great for people like us might even watch like 5 times :D It's kind of like one of those music movies they make for a niche music that is getting popular but it just doesnt work for the general public, but for the ones in the know it's great.

My movie would play there. I'd make sure of it. Just for you Babymaker. :-)

It's absolutely dying at the box office...

According to Box Office Mojo, during it's first week in 252 theaters (mostly in large markets), "Middle Men" grossed a dismal $543.246 (the gross money earned is before Paramount and the theaters get their cuts, and this doesn't include money spent on advertising, etc).

To break if down, "Middle Men" averaged $2,156 per screen for the whole week. Divide that by seven days, and that is $308 a day on average per screen. Further divide that by 5 showings a day, and the average gross is a paltry $61.60 per showing. :helpme

The past two days receipts reported (the 11th and 12th) the average per screen gross was $186 and $171 respectively.

Even should the movie still make it into wide release, it probably won't last for long if the daily averages continue to follow the same pattern it has thus far (including more than a 50% fall-off in attendance after the first few days). If it tanks even further in smaller markets, it will be curtains for "Middle Men" in short order.

That's too bad. They must have payed Luke Wilson quite some dough to take the role.

The total budget was reportedly $20 million (scale pay for an A-List actor), and several of the actors were bigger names than Luke Wilson (James Caan, Kelsey Grammer), and better actors (Kevin Pollack), so I'm guessing he didn't get paid all that much (which possibly explains why the editing/narrative was muffed so badly).

Vanity projects are rarely successful.

They never advertised at least in Philly no newspaper ads and i saw like 1 10 sec tv spot i could have easily missed, why no advertising :( I think it would have done good, at least I want to see it somewhere I am interested :)

If it does not go wide on August 20th, as was planned, then it will probably be on DVD/Blu-Ray in a month.

20mm , and that doesnt include the Marketing. The movie is a bust on a massive scale. But to be fair...studios usually make 10 movies just to get one home run that covers the losses on all the others.

Only difference here is that it was made/marketed with private $ :( Anyone who makes a film as an investment is taking a HUGE risk on a real long shot of it making a profit. If Someone is making a movie based on their life as an ego project or to get into the "biz" then good for them. Its not easy to make 20+ million dollars....if you are smart enought to do so....I say have fun and do whatever the hell you want with it.

Not what I would do with the money, but to each his own.

It will not go wide ... simply because movie houses need mouths in the seats to get them to spend 10.00 a head on the concession stand.. that is where the money is for the circuit.

Paramount ( in fact the small division of Paramount - Advantage ) just did a pickup .. no money in ... they are moving on to the next flick while they instruct their ancillary department ( DVD- PPV ) to get ready to release.

Gross sales were down over 70% from the previous weekend. That was the worst decline on the weekend list of 101 movies, than all but six other movies (none of which was playing on more than 15 screens - compared with Middle Men's 252 screens).

In fact, sales for the entire weekend were less than for any single day from the previous weekend.

Yep, just saw that myself. Not a good sign for a movie hoping for a larger release. Chances are it will be on DVD in a 4-6 weeks.

That box office link isn't showing any movie times in my area, even after the 8/20 wider release.

i wont b supporting this by paying to see it.

I saw commercials on tv for it a lot. But there's no showtimes in my state that I can find.

I saw like 1 10 sec tv spot and no newspaper ads not even the 2 weeklys that people look for movie info when they take a shit lol :D
