A Need That Needs Filling

the more I read about all the new technology(methods of content delivery, micro payments, new devices, HTML5 etc etc) it's become apparent that the little guys, and by little i mean people doing less than 100 sales a day are going to be left behind on the world wide web.

small operators don't have a CTO or in house programmers, many are very limited in their understanding of technology - what they're good at is producing content and sites that people want in a ton of different niches.

so there's a good business i think for somebody with the know how and tools to take us little guys into the new world.

according to mutt, people like yourself don't stand a chance. to keep up with technology you would need capital in the millions to play with.

and how do you propose someone fill this need? if they charge you money for it, its the same as hiring someone, no?

paying a freelancer when you need it is cheaper than paying 80k/etc a year if you don't need the service full time :2 cents:

There are already some tools for small webmasters that they can take advantage of. I am only a part-time webmaster and I and an employee built my own token based VOD site from free or inexpensive components including Wordpress as my CMS (free), a leased script (PhantomFlicks) that the developer installed for me and Zombaio's low cost billing.

I also recently put a job posting on a local Craigslist for people with various skills like graphic design, web development & video editing and I got quite a lot of responses from some very talented people willing to work in-house part-time or a per project basis. Anyone who is savvy enough should be able to do the research to find out what they need and find some help online on a forum like this or in their local area.

You are forgetting that as those bigger companies get into all those other areas there will be people developing to sell their scripts ect to smaller websites.

How much did it cost to get a tube site up when YouTube first came out? Now it costs like 100 bucks.

It will always be that way. Bigger companies will break the ice and smaller companies will be a little behind but will end up in the flow anyway.

Pay money, watch video.

What new technology?

90 sales per day at $40 PPS is $3600 per day. That's $1.3M per year. That's not bad income at all and I wouldn't consider "little."
