yea I bet you laughed while your boy bombed thousands of innocent Iraqi women and children to death too didn't you. You know who's not laughing? The familes of the 4400 plus US Soldiers killed in a pointless, trumped up and illegal war.

I never understood why americans love to blame and hate everyone in the army chain command - from top war orchestrators like Bush, Cheney, Rumslefd to top generals and down but it all stops at the soldiers, who are actually the ones who do all the dirty work in this case..they are volunteers, no one forced them to join the army, they are the ones who carry out the actual acts of aggression and killings yet all they get is praise??? I mean with this logic no one should hate talibans but only bin laden and other commanders but it is not the case..same is with nazi soldiers - everyone loves to hate them - why not only hitler and top commanders? for me soldiers are the equal participants in this "pointless, trumped up and illegal war.".

No one forced those soldiers to go to iraq or war really, as far as I know you are free to walk in USA if you dont like what the Bush has in plan for you...

I have to admit it, the bush was really funny guy...top comedy stuff...

Bush was the best American comedian ever :)

Soldiers do what they do for noble reasons. Just because a drunken cowboy sends them to an illegal war to die, that doesn't make the job any less noble, just pointless. No one 'forced' those soldiers to go to Iraq? Maybe you don't understand how the military works. Choice is not an option. When enlisted, you are government property and you do what they tell you to do, or you face the consequences. You don't get to "quit" the minute some jackass like Bush sends you to go kill people. They do what they are told and go kill people.

Since when did America stop being free country? Did I miss that? This is the first time I hear that you have to do what you are told. Is the army slavery now or how? Once you are in ,even voluntarily, you loose your rights to go out?

The final and the most crucial choice lies only in the shoulders of a man himself, a soldier in this case. He can say NO and face the consequences at home. But he CAN say no. This is what separates real men and cowards - and not blindly following orders and going into war you do not agree with...Choice IS an option. There are consequences BUT there is an option.

Being a soldiers and Nobble reasons :1orglaugh

There is your noble reason! Money! So they are actually mercenaries nothing less. Fighting the illegal and wrong war. (We all agree on that considering all the hate for Bush here). And being hailed as heroes at home. Cool.

Yes. You do. Leaving of your own free will is called AWOL, (or 'Desertion' during war time) and is punishable by prison time, busting big rocks into little rocks at Ft. Leavenworth.

You're right. And he will be dishonorably discharged and thrown in prison.

The option is before you enlist, not after.

Soldiers are what stands between the life you enjoy now, and being thrown into slavery by the first person bigger than you.

Mercenaries yes, some of them. Fighting the illegal & wrong war? That's Bush's war. Soldiers are a tool. If you use a hammer to bash someone's skull in, the hammer is not inherently evil, it's user is.

LOL dude soldiers have to have ownership.

just because you put on a uniform does not make you immune from right or wrong.

Of course, they can't go offing civilians willy nilly, but they also cannot mutiny the President.

Slutboat 08-28-2010 10:27 AM

It's a very strange relationship this country has with Vets returning from Iraq. They are definately not hailed as heros but the vast majority of Americans, but rather victims...we feel sorry for them because the whole nation knows they were used as pawns by our criminal, war profiteering leaders.
