Mainstream Proccessing Company

I am looking for a company like zombaio for mainstream processing of subscription based websites. Something set up mainly for different levels of subscriptions and fees around the 2.9% with possibly up to 30 cents per transaction.

Solid and reputable.

TIA

itto 09-14-2010 04:59 PM

if i remember correct, there's a mainstream version of ccbill, called ecsuite.com.

I think all pass on that one, too high fees and with Paul K and all involved... nah

Google Merchant is also not a viable solution as the process to pay is WAY to complicated.

Any others would be greatly appreciated. :thumbsup

itto 09-14-2010 06:08 PM

then there's 2checkout.com - but fees are (quote from website):
"2CO applies a 5.5% commission on each transaction, plus a $0.45 USD charge per transaction."

SallyRand 09-14-2010 06:17 PM

Take a look at Alertpay. by the way, I am told that the surcharge for VISA and Discover to bill for adult is going to become pretty much the industry standard, so don't be surprised.

Sally.

Sally.

Took a quick look... 4.9 + .25 but am not clear all the costs associated with accepting an online subscription payment and then receiving the funds. By reading fees section... https://www.alertpay.com/en/fees.aspx seems like you get hit on both ends.

Also, not interested in visa cards etc. with processor ;)

Just want to process for industry standard and have money deposited into my own bank account.

I've checked out charge.com and am not clear how they operate either but there fees are 2.9 and .10 per transaction.

Looking for simple solution with minimal customer information needed to process a mainstream subscription website.

Get your own merchant account and process with Eprocessing network. See Sig. Free to Apply.

Why? I don't need high risk processing for this site.

carrion1928 09-14-2010 07:49 PM

I might be misunderstanding, but why not just setup your own merchant account. It's cheap and easy for mainstream. I've use www [dot] cdgcommerce [dot] com with Authorize.net for a web hosting company in the past. It's pretty easy to integrate.

I just contacted my bank regarding authorize.net. They are a local credit union and the person I talked to said she would research but had no answers. Is there anything I can send to them to show how it works besides the diagram on authorize?

carrion1928 09-14-2010 08:04 PM

Authorize.net is a payment gateway. I don't believe they act as a merchant processor. You need to have a merchant account for that. cdgcommerce.com would do that, but there are many others. They are just one I've worked with. All you need from your credit union is a business checking account.

Basically what happens is a credit card (or eCheck) is sent to Authorize.net who verifies it and tells the merchant processor (cdgcommerce) to deposit the funds from their account into your checking account. There's more to it, but that's basically how it works.

www [.] cdgcommerce.com/internet-services.php talks about the fees. Someone at cdgcommerce will be happy to explain in detail. They were very easy to work with and understand it better then me. It does take a couple of days to get setup, but it's the most cost effective way to accept credit card payments.

I should really get a commission for this :thumbsup

Hello mmcfadden,

We can certainly help you out with a merchant account at one of our banks that we place mainstream business.

I will contact you to discuss.

Authorize.net is great. I've used them for 6 years and they are continuously innovating. You'll need a script (cart) to interface with their API. Their Automated Recurring Billing (ARB) fee is only $10 per month.

Tell the gal at your bank to contact their own IT dept. ;)

Hi,

We process for hundreds of mainstream merchants and work with many many banks to do so. Please post questions here or better yet, contact our sales department tomorrow to answer all of your questions. You will be happy that you did.

p.s. Authorize.net and others do mainstream as well but you will find a MUCH higher level of service and functionality with NETBilling.

We look forward to serving you.

I hate to bring this up but authorize.net is absolutely the worst fucking gateway. If you google merchant accounts and find top results cybersource.com will come up near the top. If you fill out there online application to see if you are approved you are actually, and unknowingly, filling out a binding contract with authorize.net to bang your bank account monthly until you discover it and raise hell
CDGcommerce is legit and even recommend to you a free gateway of there's with no fees called quantum gateway.

Authorize.net aka cybersource.com is not the only ones obviously that totally rip the applicant off, charge.com is 10X worse.

Crazy shit for sure, thank god for chargebacks :thumbsup

I got fucked by charge.com and researched ripoffreport for similar cases and found a ton. I didn't see any on authorize which seems really strange because there tactics are very similar.
I got ripped off by both companies since October.
EMAIL TEXT STRING BELOW.... google can index it and hope at least 1 person gets warned and please keep in mind...

CHARGE.COM is a total fucking rip off, above and beyond authorize.net

email string............................................ .................................
Something isn't sitting right with me.
You said a $99 set up fee yet I was billed $142.67 approximately 15 days after this online approval application (obviously you know that I thought it was an application and not a binding contract by now... RIGHT?)

So why $142.67... why the pennies? You charge tax on an item non-taxable? And yes I would have selected recurring options so that would account for the 2 subsequent $30 ach debits from my account. Does not explain $142.67.

As a typical consumer... anything with $xxx.67 on the end rings like a purchase I would have made locally with tax, right?

Your email address is @cybersource.com which is who cancelled my merchant account (Merchant Applications [mailto:[email protected]]). You just said you are authorize.net so how the fuck would I know who is who and what the hell to do? So I get an email confirmation from a @cybersource.com which said my application is not approved and you @cybersource.com also authorize.net won't cancel my account without a phone call? I didn't sign up for anything with a phone call so why should I have to call to cancel?

I don't really care either way... i'm charging it all back.

You applied for a gateway with authorize.net (which is us and has a $99 setup fee, and a $20 monthly fee and if you selected any additional service like advanced fraud detection or automated recurring billing another $10) You also applied for a merchant account which we do not provide. We had that off to a partner (1 of 12-13)

You cancelled your application for the merchant account. That did not close your account with us. As far as we knew you had gotten a merchant account elsewhere to use with this gateway. It is not the responsibility or the 3rd party merchant account provider nor us to guess what your intentions were regarding your gateway account you opened. You have to make that request directly to us letting us know.

Your gateway account with us WAS approved and setup and the service was available to you. That is what you have been charged for. The merchant account which you canceled (was not turned down by our partner) was not setup nor were you billed for that.

If you setup an account with a cable company, sign the contract they set up service for you, but you never turn on the tv, they will still bill you. The only difference is with us there is no long term contract. As mentioned all you need to do is contact our customer support at 877.447.3938 and they can close the account for you.

Then why is there over $200 taken from my account? I don't use you, I was researching alternatives and typically you need to be approved for a merchant account, then you set up, then you bill. Your philosophy is to make user think they are filling an application to get approved, take the information, approve (or in my case not approve but still set up another account under authorize.net), assume customer is using your processing (or not, doesn't matter) and start banging the back account. Sound about right?

Of course your going to tell me that I had to click Terms and Conditions and that on page 21 in font size 3 I agreed to have my bank account banged monthly even if I don't use you... right?

It's a joke, 300,000 minus 1 then

Did you read this email below and title of email. Cancelled!

Also, your hidden bullshit is so illegal and shady it is sickening. Why do you feel that I should be paying authorize.net monthly for over $200 and climbing each month. Do you honestly feel that I, or anybody, knows that by filling an online application is somehow authorizing you to steal from me? Do I process through authorize.net or cybersource.com?

IT'S A RHETORICAL QUESTION, the answer is......... NO! Don't email me and tell me I authorized this bullshit. Kindly just send me a check for $500 to make up for it and cancel any accounts, directly or indirectly, created by your outlandish online forms through cybersource.com, authorize.net and anything else you consider a business or service.

Total bullshit below statement...

As you can see from above, you applied for a gateway and merchant account on Sept 14th. When you submitted the application you had to agree to the terms or it wouldn’t have let you submit it. You were billed for what you requested.

So since I was investigating possible merchant solutions I have had over $600 stolen out of my bank account.

Authorize.net has taken this out of my account:

$142.67 10/4/2010
$30 11/2/2010
$30 12/2/2010

So that is $202.67 stolen directly from my bank account from authorize.net because I enquired about merchant accounts.

So promptly send me a check for $500 for my stolen money and my time to discover and research this.
Obviously I don't use any of you, however, somehow there is this unwritten law that by filling out an online application that I have somehow given you asshats the right to blatantly steal my money.

I have one merchant account which I process through which provides me free gateway and minimal fees, yet, I have over $600 gone from my account from this merchant research I did back in mid september of 2010.

I have no idea if cybersource.com is related to charge.com because they also ach withdrew straight from my bank account, yet, I don't use them either. I have opened up a case with both the BBB and the FEDS regarding charge.com, aka cynergy data, aka pipeline data and will do the same with authorize.net if you don't send me my money plus my fee for lost time.

Hey Mitch, I'll be in touch in the near future. Have tons of sites that will need processing for adult and mainstream. Mainstream I pay 2.99 and .30 per transaction and no ridiculous gataway fees.

I'm just posting about my experience about merchant account online application inquiries now in this thread

I may very well take you up on that. I am ok with my processor now but recurring billing is becoming a very big issue. So I have tech support about to give me a quote to fix and if it comes up higher then a few hours of work I will talk to you shortly after.

Fees I have are 2.25 (just checked my fees) plus 30 cents per transaction. There are no hidden charges and I have no gateway fees.

Can you match or exceed that? If CDG comes back to me with quote of several K to fix my billing account I will go with you tomorrow
