When's the best time to buy an apple product ?

With Apple seeming to update it's products every six months when do you think the best time in a products life cycle it is to purchase..?

I am thinking of buying a new 15" macbook pro with the I7 processor. I am guessing they won't come out with a newer model for another year at least.

Ipad 2 to be released end of 2010 !

Also new features for current Ipad model.

If they are updating every six months and control pricing as tightly as they do, if there's something you want...I'd buy as soon as it's released.

The problem is not knowing when the latest version is going to be released. I would hate to buy a new laptop for example only to find a newer / better version released a month later.

I checked MacRumors and cannot see a new MacBook Pro on the horizon....

Best time to buy an Apple product is when you have too much money burning a hole in your wallet and you want to get rid of it fast by giving it to Steve Jobs

I purchased a 13" Macbook (white) when it came out. Actually my mac was from the 25th week of production. One day got so hot (the battery) that it melted the keyboard and part of the side of the macbook.

They said it happened to most of the laptops produced during that week.

So my advice is: wait!!!

Apple is akin to buying fashion that changes constantly. That's appealing to many.

However, if the latest fashion isn't what you're seeking, then shop on specs - which for most Apple products, there are numerous alternatives that, while maybe not as stylish or easy to use, are, overall, just as good and are priced much less.

We have windows machines in the office and they are terrible. Love my macbook, never goes wrong, never get blue screen of death, starts & crosses down way faster, plus built on unix so you know its stable.

My time is worth more than trying to save a few hundred bucks on something like a computer that I purchase once every 3 years approx.
When you spend 40-50 hours a week in front of a computer it's worth spending a little extra......

It's like my Iphone 4, I know the EVO is a "better" phone technically however my Iphone just works. It syncs with Itunes, Mac Mail, contacts etc straight out of the box. You don't need to be a techno geek to use it.

Love Imovie for the Iphone. I was editing HD video on my Iphone within minutes.
