Can I turn off my rep?
I really don't see the point when some shit for brains like GatorB threatens to give me negative rep because I don't see things the way he see's it, if I gave a shit about it, then the green names would control my actions, fuck that!
So turn off my rep |
that would be great, turning it off that is, or give everybody the power to rep whatever their postcount is, some people are working the boards, some are not.

Positive rep for you!
|
If you don't give a shit, why are you paying it any attention anyways? It's not like either of you are anywhere near having negative rep...
|
|
felis madjewicus it is just an idea, I cannot rep anybody because I do not have the postcount.
stupid but true, that means that any serious webmaster or even serious contributors on this board are without power because the amounts of posts? Does not sound fair to me, no biggie though. Just saying. |
You could pay someone to rep it down then rep it back up as you offed people. Fatfoo's got a new purpose.

yeah after seeing all the trolls begging and sucking board cock for rep with their threads it renders it rather worthless...

Nobody takes it seriously anyway, so don't get your panties in a twist over it.
|
Calm down. You have a lot of rep, so 1 person isn't going to ruin it for you.

I can't believe anyone actually cares about rep.

Vendzilla, positive reps null the negative reps, so just enjoy it and move.
Sadly not enough contest threads around these days to bump :( and get a huge post count. |

No you can't. The rep system was put in place so you know who has a solid good rep around gfy and you have no real worries when doing business with people as you can tell by the lack of " do x and ill rep you " threads around here ;)

The rep function is totally useless. It should be renamed, "who ever can ask to get rep'ed the most by asking others for rep" because that is how it is getting used. I'd turn mine off as well if I could, ok feature, but totally worthless in this zoo. |
The funny thing about rep is all of the people worrying about it and obsessing with it, it's like Eric tossed a new new toy into the fish tank to keep everyone busy playing here and entertaining themselves.
If people could stand back and look how ridiculous this shit is, they would probably cry. |
imho, this rep shit is gay
|
I am not allowed to give rep for some reason.
I must be on the moderator's watch list. |
|
Rep is kinda gay, but at least interesting to see at a glance what the general green/red community here think of someone by their rep. I try to be funny most of the time but apparently don't succeed enough to garner the rep.

I for one have only asked to be rep'd like twice, and both times got ignored, the rest of my rep came from people actually agreeing or liking my posts. :2 cents: |

It's a shiny toy for the people who post their ass off for no apparent reason other than increasing their post count, except for a very select few of people. Who seriously can reach that many posts? I just recently reached 2k (without making a fucking announcement about it) and look how long I've been here. It's because my posts usually have some merit or my thread is asking a question that will help many other people out who have the same questions. |

Basically you just need to be able to see the sincerity and reputation in poeoples posts and what others say about them. If you haven't been here long enough to tell if someone is a problem solver or problem starter on your own then you should hold off on doing any 'business' here. |
How many posts do you need to be able to rep people?

It is one more reason for webmasters to act like high school kids..
|
Honestly does it really matter? I either know someone or I don't. And I either trust them or I don't. I don't need other's anon opinions to help formulate my own.
|
The whole rep thing turned me off when people started asking for them.
Really, we have that much time? |
There is going to be someone who agrees and someone who disagrees with you. That's the democratic way to do it, isn't it? I think this reputation feature can stay.
