BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. ? A 4Chan web forum splinter group is planning a DDoS attack on Hustler.com, which recently filed suits targeting more than 5,000 alleged users of BitTorrent networks who downloaded LFP content.

We all have seen enough torrent sites get sued. Sure - maybe a handful they will be able to collect money from but most of those 3000 suits will just get the site shut down and whoever ran it in some random third world country will just pop up a new site.

Judge can only apply a payment plan on a person if that person has an income or some sort of assets.

You forgot to mention that a judge would place a lien on the person, so as if they ever do earn anything, they're mandated to make restitution for their crimes.

"Lucky" for Hustler that taking down there website won't hurt them much since the thieving fucking pirates have already destroyed all their sales and Hustler's web presence is negligible because of that. Hustler literally has nothing to lose and everything to gain by going after them hard.

And when those kids do get caught...payback is gonna be a bitch. I'd hate to be one of their parents when the whip comes down on that group. It's gonna cost a lot of money and some jail time.

civil lawsuit = you owe someone $$$ = they will have to chase you down [for $500/hr + filing fees, etc]

Child support is basically inescapable / no way out other than paying as agreed.

On the other-hand, uncollected civil judgments can often be reduced / wiped out for one with little to no assets in bankruptcy.
