WTF is wrong with Firefox?!?!?!?!??!!!!!

God damn this is fucking irritating. It i crashing everytime I open it. I have removed it and uploaded 3 times today...wtf? Anyone have any ideas how to fix it or should I just move on to chrome?

Yngwie 10-25-2010 12:04 AM

which version?

heymatty 10-25-2010 12:05 AM

Slow as shit recently. I use chrome now.

Antonio 10-25-2010 12:07 AM

Nothing is wrong with it - it's just a shitty browser.

Yngwie 10-25-2010 12:09 AM

If you can, install Firefox 3.0.1.0.. Whenever I have problems with a newer version of FF I just install 3.0.1.0 since it's pretty stable. If needed, I will upload it to one of my domains so you can download it.

papill0n 10-25-2010 12:13 AM

wtf is wrong with you you fucking reatrded fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk

papill0n 10-25-2010 12:14 AM

disable all your extensions

PornMD 10-25-2010 12:35 AM

IE and Firefox are driving a car while Chrome is flying a plane. I'd rather fly tyvm.

epitome 10-25-2010 12:40 AM

Use Chrome. It is so much quicker.

charlie g 10-25-2010 12:40 AM

hey yngwie, I am running 3.6.1. I would love to down load an old stabler version.

And I prefer Chrome for browsing but I really like the extensions for FF (screen grabber and translator).

Maxi 10-25-2010 12:40 AM

Learn to chrome.

http://www.sluttyx.com/FirefoxSetup3.0.10.exe

But as papillion said, disable all of your extensions to see if that fixes the problem.

charlie g 10-25-2010 01:05 AM

Ya, I have disabled the extensions and it still crashes. Thanks for the link!

madawgz 10-25-2010 03:27 AM

i formatter and first thing installed firefox, and still have the same issues with it crashing

but on my other computers it never crashes...

Ethersync 10-25-2010 03:35 AM

Use Chrome.

Chosen 10-25-2010 03:38 AM

I prefer Opera :)

u-Bob 10-25-2010 03:41 AM

I love firefox but the 3.5+ versions are crap.

signupdamnit 10-25-2010 05:13 AM

Grab a beta version of 4.0

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/beta/

Also make sure to install this so most of your extensions will still work.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003/

is it finally faster and lighter? Or still slow and burning CPU usage like the present 3.x versions.

seeandsee 10-25-2010 06:34 AM

my 3.6.11 is working great

Yeah god tip, me too. Listen to the man install 3.0.1.0!

rowan 10-25-2010 06:48 AM

Try http://www.seamonkey-project.org/

It uses the FF rendering engine and as of 2.x the interface changed, so I guess it looks similar to it too.

Very rarely crashes for me, maybe twice this year.

One catch: I don't think it supports FF extensions.

michael.kickass 10-25-2010 07:01 AM

I'm using version 3.6.11 with no problems. :2 cents:

Seamonkey is decent and stable except I think development on it is rather slow. There are working extensions for most things with Seamonkey but not all.

For all the people saying Chrome is faster I found it interesting that Mozilla is starting to claim Firefox 4.0 has overtaken Chrome in key areas.
http://www.conceivablytech.com/3676/...r-than-chrome/ It looks like the browser war is heating up again?

I'm not sure if it is faster than Chrome or not but is far faster that Firefox 3.6.x. If you are going to use Firefox I think you should use the Firefox 4.0 betas if there is any chance of it being possible for you. There is a big difference between the two.

UniqueD 10-25-2010 07:13 AM

for me it was the flash plugin, after in installed it it crashes after opening, once i uninstalled it, it acts fine.

I checked:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/153351/

And it looks like Roboform is compatible. :)

CyberHustler 10-25-2010 07:21 AM

I wouldn't know what's wrong with firefox... I've made the switch to chrome.

anexsia 10-25-2010 07:51 AM

I've been using Opera recently and I LOVE it!

I'll use both Opera and Chrome.
I ditched Firefox last winter, I miss the extension though.

sortie 10-25-2010 10:11 AM

Fire Fox fans are dwindling I see.

u-Bob 10-25-2010 10:23 AM

lunascape could be an alternative: you can switch between the gecko (ff), trident (ie) and webkit (chrome) engine:
