Scariest movie you have ever seen?

I am looking to load up with some great horror flicks for the coming weekend. More obscure and twisted productions are of more interest since we have seen most of the known ones. Give me your best shot!

Ethersync 10-26-2010 06:08 AM

Check out Martyrs and Angst (1983).

seeandsee 10-26-2010 06:11 AM

He is talking about this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1273235/

I have not seen it yet, but I hear it is really fucked up.

xsabn 10-26-2010 06:47 AM

Antichrists 2009 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0870984/

justinsain 10-26-2010 06:49 AM

I saw the Exorcist in the theater in it's original release and it sent chills up my spine and gave me goosebumps for most of the movie. I haven't seen a horror movie since with that kind of impact. Many can suddenly startle you but very few can creep you out for most of the movie like the Exorcist did back then.

I like scary movies so I hope someone can suggest some movies that can do today what the Exorcist did back then.

brassmonkey 10-26-2010 07:09 AM

"my bloody valentine" 1981

spazlabz 10-26-2010 07:14 AM

The original Nightmare On Elm Street scared the shit out of me the first time I watched it

when I see it now it look pretty corny and silly, but back then (when I was in high school) it really worked to freak me out

Rankings 10-26-2010 07:23 AM

I think it was called BROKEN

Caligari 10-26-2010 07:27 AM

Waco: The Rules of Engagement

If you are aware of the U.S. Waco massacre this might scare the shit out of you.

otherwise as far as fictional horror i highly recommend REC and REC 2. watch them back to back.

on edit, Evil Chris mentioned the original Black Christmas...great horror film.

I agree. I'm not into graphic horror, or 'jumpy' movies... But I loved BW...

Especially at the end, where he is stood in the corner, like a naughty child, and you think... Oh FUCK.... :helpme

I did like that :)

bronco67 10-26-2010 07:30 AM

The Descent

A Tale of Two Sisters

Audition

Caligari 10-26-2010 07:30 AM

this would qualify as the longest running length horror film (8 years)

"Day of the Triffids"

newB 10-26-2010 09:05 AM

If you can find it, The Changeling with George C. Scott (not the one with Angelina Jolie). Not bloody or gory but scary as hell!

Zverka 10-26-2010 09:17 AM

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1251757/

when you see it you'll shit bricks

:2 cents:

Pryda 10-26-2010 09:18 AM

These 4 stand out from the pack for me:
Blair Witch Project
The Descent
Paranormal Activity
[Rec]

Martyrs and Inside are two great french horror movies. Not as scary as the above 4, but still very scary AND sick.

Serbian Movie scary? Not at all. Fucking sick, very much so :) One of the few movies I had to stop. Didn't enjoy it at all either. And I normally love gory, sick horror.

I forgot about REC. That's a great one, and the sequel ain't bad either.

The American remake "Quarantine" is surprisingly good.
