Scariest movie you have ever seen?
I am looking to load up with some great horror flicks for the coming weekend. More obscure and twisted productions are of more interest since we have seen most of the known ones. Give me your best shot!

Check out Martyrs and Angst (1983).

I have not seen it yet, but I hear it is really fucked up. |
Antichrists 2009 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0870984/

I saw the Exorcist in the theater in it's original release and it sent chills up my spine and gave me goosebumps for most of the movie. I haven't seen a horror movie since with that kind of impact. Many can suddenly startle you but very few can creep you out for most of the movie like the Exorcist did back then.
I like scary movies so I hope someone can suggest some movies that can do today what the Exorcist did back then. |
"my bloody valentine" 1981
|
The original Nightmare On Elm Street scared the shit out of me the first time I watched it
when I see it now it look pretty corny and silly, but back then (when I was in high school) it really worked to freak me out |
I think it was called BROKEN

Waco: The Rules of Engagement
If you are aware of the U.S. Waco massacre this might scare the shit out of you. otherwise as far as fictional horror i highly recommend REC and REC 2. watch them back to back. on edit, Evil Chris mentioned the original Black Christmas...great horror film. |

Especially at the end, where he is stood in the corner, like a naughty child, and you think... Oh FUCK.... :helpme I did like that :) |
The Descent
A Tale of Two Sisters Audition |
this would qualify as the longest running length horror film (8 years)

i don't mind zombies, mutants and cutting off body parts. but movies like "the ring" give me a hard time
|
|
"Day of the Triffids"
|
If you can find it, The Changeling with George C. Scott (not the one with Angelina Jolie). Not bloody or gory but scary as hell!
|
|
These 4 stand out from the pack for me:
Blair Witch Project The Descent Paranormal Activity [Rec] Martyrs and Inside are two great french horror movies. Not as scary as the above 4, but still very scary AND sick. Quote:

I haven't seen it in forever, but parts of Nightmares have stuck with me for a long time. Favorite horror movie is The Omen (original of course).
