Ok, since i was forced to open an i-payout account

I received an email from a sponsor telling me that my i-payout account had been set up and that I needed to login and finish registration.

The registration was a pain in the ass. I went through 20 pages of questions that i had to fill out.

Anyway, how do I find my 'username' in the i-payout system? (the sponsor is asking for it to send payments)

willwank 10-26-2010 09:09 AM

They sent I-Payouts your name and e-mail?

Your EMC2Payouts username will be the email address that the Sponsor Program who created your Ewallet has on file.

Thats more than shady unless they have your permission to share user info with third parties without notification from their side. In fact, in some areas of the world I-Payouts and the sending part would be fined heavily.

I-Payouts. Are you actively supporting this practice?

The sponsor did notify affiliates, he must have missed the memo.

I just went through this process myself, use your email address for that sponsor. Be sure to change that sponsors payout information to I-Payout which if it is the sponsor I am thinking of, that is the only option. If you don't change it, they won't send checks.

They're electing the company to handle their payouts.

How is it any different than Webmaster Checks before they had their problem?

Different systems, both third parties, which is where you seem to have the problem.

Including wires and checks? If they are just transferring everything payout to them I guess things would be different.

WMC didn't make everyone send in W9 forms or ask so many questions.

EMC2Payouts does not require a W9.

Something tells me a thread like this will come for every other sponsor besides Paxum soon. *yawn*

I was notified by the sponsor a few days ago, yes. They just told me: you naow have an account in i-payout. But i didn't want to open an account there.

But whatever. I-payout is confusing to use and there are security risks i am not comfortable with.

Who is the sponsor?

Program owners can set up an account for their affiliates/payees by loading basic information into the EMC2Payouts system. All that is required is the name and email address so the information can be sent to the users. At that point the user receives an email inviting them to establish their account. It is up to the user to decide if they would like to activate the account and enter the appropriate information depending on how they choose to receive their funds. They can link to their bank account just about anywhere in the world, place the funds on a card, and receive a check, wire, send P2P, or sign up for a new debit card.

Would you encourage sponsors to not load affiliates information into your system before the affiliate have agreed and given the green light?

EMC2Payouts powered by IPS is SAS 70 Type 2 Compliant.

We work with 134 banks around the world that would not be doing business with us if we had any security shortfalls. What security risks are you concerned about?

Also, what part of the process was confusing for you? It should take no longer than 5 minutes to set up your account from scratch.

Thank you,
LL

We have had some programs sign up who have opted to utilize EMC2Payouts exclusively for international payouts. That is their business decision. People can transfer funds anywhere they want from the EMC2 e-wallet account. We are confident we have the most flexible, secure, and cost effective product available in the market today. We believe you will be very pleased with the flexibility, payment options, and tools you?ll have to manage your funds.

Based on proprietary technology and contractual relationships with these banks, we are able to do credits to just about any country via EFT as well as Swift Payouts.

Indeed. However, if you want to make sure you keep your path absolutely clean towards European authorities you should send out a memo...

I signed up some weeks ago so no need to sell me. I wish you the best of luck and hope you will stick around and compete with the rest of the bunch.

Imho first thing you should do is to waive all signup, monthly maintenance, closure and dormant fees for the first 6 months. In todays post epass situation it comes across as not very user friendly when ppl are searching for a solution that suits them. Right now I figured I owe you some 10-20 bucks (depending on what I decide) just for looking around before I decide who will be my main e-wallet solution. :2 cents:

Tempest 10-26-2010 01:10 PM

Why the hell would a sponsor create an account for someone without them requesting it... Morons... I already have an account, don't need more because some sponsor thinks they're doing me a favour.

If multiple programs create and account for you they will be combined into one. You will not have multiple accounts.

lagcam 10-26-2010 05:46 PM

Well maybe you are over-reacting or maybe the sponsor acted a little inappropriately in pre-registering your details but I think you will find they were trying to be helpful.

In any case, I don't think you can blame i-payout for this. They don't know what process the sponsor goes through before pre-registering people.

i don't get this i-payout shit. being forced to use it sucks. why can't sponsors cut their own damn checks. i am being charged 4 bucks for a check!?! what the hell. thats a rip off when no other program charges me anything...it just seems like another clusterfuck waiting to happen like webmasterchecks and all of these other ewallet programs that have no known background.

roxxx 10-27-2010 01:11 PM

i-payout sucks ..

i requested a eWallet to Credit Card $ transfer on 19/10/2010 and still didn't got it.. 8 days now (the $ were of course taken from my account)

As it stands the ewallet to credit card (not our pre paid card) transfers take 3-5 business days.

Was your transfer request to a Payoneer card? Because we did have a problem that created a delay for those type of transactions 2 weeks ago. It has since been fixed.

If you can icq, skype or email me, I will personally look into it.

Most adult affiliates either take their funds into a bank account via Electronic Funds Transfer (which is only $6 international and $3 domestic, compared to the high cost of wires, usually $30 or more), or they transfer funds onto a Debit Card for only $2, also very competitive. I agree, having us write you a physical check for $3.95 is not the best choice. But the truth is, it is much less than the average cost of a payroll check, and for many of our clients, it is a good option for billl pay, regular payments, etc.
EMC2Payouts offers many good, cost effective choices for Affiliates to manage their funds.

Thank you,
LL

Agreed.. After all these years I just don't get how any company would use an email address as the username.

At the very least they should have it set up so you can add additional email addresses like PayPal and even Paxum.

We don't require people to use their primary email account, only an account that they check regularly and their program sponsor is aware of. In your case, you were obviously added in by a Sponsor Program so you didn't get a choice. You can in fact change to a new account so long as you inform your sponsor, of your new preferred email address for EMC2/I-Payout payments.

And folks, we are listening to this feedback and discussions are already underway with our tech department. We are thinking of adding the ability for users to have up to 3 email addresses in their account, which can be given to the programs you work with as your User ID. More on this tomorrow. For security reasons we don?t like to give users the ability to ?change? email, but adds might be okay.

In general, feel free anytime to pick up a phone and call us, hit us via ICQ, or contact us on our customer service links. We are a strong tech shop obviously with the sophisticated system we offer, and we are always willing to look at any new functionality that webmasters deem important to have. We are able to move quickly on these things. We realize this is a relatively new payout option for adult affiliates, but remember, our solution has been in the marketplace now for close to 5 years and it is successful. We are here to stay, we?re up on many programs in the affiliate space now and we will be responding to good suggestions, I promise you that.

Payoneer allows loads from your EMC2/I-Payout ewallet account which can take 3 - 5 days. This costs $2. If Paxum will allow loads through their system from our e-wallet accounts, it would be the same cost, and approximately the same time frame.

Sounds almost great, but why only 3?

Also, for better security - the login and e-walet address shouldn't be the same.

More than 3 would definately be good. What does paypal allow? 8 or 10?

I really hate having to give out my wallet email to programs. They always seem to have security issues and it's only a matter of time before that email gets out there and we start getting spam on it. Needs to be much better separation between the money and the programs.

Jdoughs 10-31-2010 03:31 PM

Save the "we are so secure" bullshit.

How can someone OTHER then me sign me up, and you be ok with it?

Please list us the sponsors that are actively doing this (without our consent). Shouldn't be any reason not to list them since this is all on the 'up and up'.

Try and keep an email address in use for a few years and Spam free ...

Using email addresses for user names is trouble waiting to happen ...
